Bug: ShuttleProv2 fails to recognize if VP15 launched as administrator

It has been a while since I last used my contour shuttleprov2, but to my horror it does not work (anymore) on Vegas Pro 15. There is nothing wrong hardware-wise and software-wise with the device as it still is working fine in my other NLE Magix video pro X which in fact baffles me even more.

Why (and when) it stopped working in VP15, I do not know... maybe since build 261, maybe after Microsoft updates? I tried and followed a few tutorials to refocus/reset/ point it back to Vegas, but nothing works.

Anyone having the same issue?

Working here on W7. Have you tried to update the drivers? Shuttle Driver v2.13.3 (Windows 10, 8, 7, 32 & 64 bit) - Latest (May 19, 2016)

Update: I found the "issue", why my ShuttlePROv2 was not working anymore. Some time ago I was experimenting with different launch settings of VP15 (via the properties of the VP15 desktop icon), I was trying out different windows (normal, maximized) and had also enabled "run this program as an administrator".

Now I do not know if this is a bug, but when launching Vegas 15 as administrator, then ShuttlePROv2 does not recognize Vegas.

By the way, you do not need to change the launch icon properties, you can also right click "Run as administrator"

Solution/workaround is NOT to launch Vegas Pro 15 as administrator...

Yup, REPROéd. CSP is dead if VP is run in ADMIN.

I have absolutely no idea why.

I think Vegas is not to blame, I have the same issue when running another NLE (Magix edit pro X) in administrator mode. It seems like a shuttleprov2 software bug...

I found a way to run Vegas as administrator and still use shuttle pro, solution is simple: make the shuttle pro also administrator. Make both the helper and the engine administrator.

You may have to approve every time if you start your pc, if you do not like this, it can be avoided by disabling in the OS the shuttle pro helper from the startup APPs and make shortcut to your desktop to helper.exe so you can launch shuttle pro before launching Vegas.
