Bug:Vegas Pro 16 open HEVC/AAC file

Vegas Pro 16 open HEVC/AAC file, the sound will be distorted to noise.

If I turn off the “use so4 audio reader for HEVC”in  internal parameter, there will be no sound for this HEVC file.

It looks like Vegas doesn't do well with HE-AAC audio. I will report this to the devs.

You can convert it with Xmedia Recode. Choose "Copy" for the "Mode" on the "Video" tab. Choose "Convert" for the "Mode" on the "Audio" tab and choose a codec such as "Fraunhofer FDK AAC". I just did this with your file. It converted really quickly and plays nicely in Vegas.

Xmedia Recode is a GUI for ffmpeg, so you could use that directly if you're comfortable with using the command line.

Thank you very much!

This is a bug that has been in Vegas since version 14 in the files with the HEVC format.

One alternative workaround I use is to use Vegasaur's Smart Trim.
