Can't get Contour's new Control Panel to work with Vegas 23

Hi. I used the Shuttle on and off for years in previous versions of Vegas.

I just installed Windows 11 on a new SSD och reinstalled Vegas and everything from scratch. Now I try to get Contour Shuttle Pro v2 to work with Vegas. Turns out Contour has launched a new control panel, more modern but I can't get aorund it. It's called Contour Design Multimedia Control Panel. See image.

I installed it (and I'm pretty sure it includes the device driver) and of course it doesn't work out of the box so managed to create a new application specific behavior for Vegas 23, directing it to Vegas 23 exe. But I don't see any way to get the buttons working. I find the pref file, but what do I do with it? Should I copy and paste it somewhere?

Does anyone understand the new Control Panel? (the old one was easier)

Fairly much the same issue was raised last month in https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/trying-to-use-contour-shuttlepro-v2-with-vegas-pro-23--150792/

Perhaps something in that thread might help.

Yes, it's true. But it didn't pertain to the new Control panel. I even asked the same question there, but since then noone has replied. So I started this new thread, for viewers to see it more easily and possible help.
