@Patrick-Marshall What's the media? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Please see my comment above yours, too.

There's no particular length limit in VEGAS. It could be 24 minutes or 24 hours.

I’m trying to import mvk files from my pc into Vegas. There’s multiple files, some ranging to an hour others maybe less. If I import enough files to reach 3+ hours of footage Vegas just crashes. It’s like there’s a limit on how much footage you can import at a time. Are you getting what I’m asking? I just want to add more time to the timeline so I can import more files into Vegas.

 I just want to add more time to the timeline so I can import more files into Vegas.

@Patrick-Marshall  ... One way to do this is to move the last event on the timeline along the timeline to the R so as to create the desired amount of empty timeline space between that last event and the 2nd last timeline event, add a marker at the new end of the timeline, and then move the last event back (L) along the timeline to the end of the 2nd last event. You will then have empty timeline space from the end of the last event to the point on the timeline where the marker is located. Another method is to add a short media generator event to the timeline after the end of the last event and then slip it to the R down the timeline and leave it there.

In Vegas Pro 21, 22 and 23, I've not had a problem adding new events to the end of the timeline creating in one case a timeline of some 10 hours in length - and without the need to apply any of the aforementioned processes. However, the events added to the end of the timeline were groups of usually short events totaling not more than, say, 5 or 10 minutes in length at a time.

Another possibility ... if the events wanted to be imported are very long in length and the audio is in the WAV format, I wonder if the WAV audio exceeds the default length allowable for use in Vegas Pro? If this is the case, go to Options/Preferences/File I/O and check either or both Wave file checkboxes to see if this makes any difference:

There is no limit but I really don't recommend using MKV files. Assuming they have normal contents like AVC/h264 use a free program like ShutterEncoder to rewrap (remux) them to MP4. It's lossless and nearly instantaneous.
