Computer RGB to Studio RGB (and Vice Versa)

Something I’ve always wondered about in Vegas:

When using the “Studio RGB to Computer RGB” levels preset, the preset turns a 16 black image to 0, as expected.

But vice versa, the “Computer RGB to Studio RGB” present turns a 0 black image to 15, not 16.

Is this a mistake? Shouldn’t the conversion give you equal results in each direction?

Further investigation shows that the input start value for the “Studio RGB to Computer RGB” preset is set at .063. Meanwhile, the output start value for “Computer RGB to Studio RGB” is set to .060.

Shouldn’t it be .063, or am I not understanding something correctly?

Doesn't exactly answer the question you asked, but first of all a lot of information and background knowledge about how Vegas Pro "thinks" is contained in this information compiled by @Marco.

I didn't further investigate except a quick test on a RGB 16 solid color media and some calculations and from this I think you are right.
