I have Vegas 13 which will not open the newer video types and need to upgrade or change programs. I do relatively simple videos of our travels for personal pleasure. As I do not want to tithe to a company, I want to buy rather than have a subscription. I'm very concerned as to whether Vegas 23 will work with my computers. I have a ton of questions that I would normally ask a salesperson, but they do not exist for this software.
I'd ask a salesperson the following:
How really, really bad is the support going to be because I cannot even ask the questions I need answered to decide to buy?
1) May I put it on my two computers?
2) Since I have Vegas 13 - is this an upgrade, or do I need to buy completely new - the price is quite different.
3) My desktop has the minimum system requirements, however, I love to mess with videos on my laptop - especially when traveling, but I don't know if the graphics will keep up...
Desktop system is: Windows 11, Intel core i7-10700 CPU @ 2.90GHz,64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, 16 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER Driver version 32.0.14.7683
Laptop system is: 12th gen core i7 1.70 GHz, 16 GB RAM, 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, Intel Iris Xe driver version 31.0.101.4502
4) How buggy is it? I just spent a ton of time with DaVinci and having to constantly reboot. I then spent a ton of time with CapCut (which I really liked), but the project files are kept online and they are sneaky about how they try to get you to buy a subscription as there is basically NOTHING you can do with audio without the full software. It is a $90 tithe a year.
6) When, (not if), I'm trying to get this to work on my computer, how difficult is it going to be to figure out what is causing the problem? I have a TON of using software experience, but I do this stuff for fun and am not great at the hardware issues.
So does anyone know how to get these questions answered? Are we supposed to, as users, get all of our information from other users? I'm kind of on an island here as I don't know other people who do the kinds of things I do with computers... and I am frankly VERY tired of having to work so hard just to get software working rather than getting to work in the software.
Any suggestions?
