What version of VEGAS and build number are you using? (e.g. 19.651)

Happy to test a file if you can upload it somewhere like Google Drive.

RasmusKKL wrote on 12/2/2024, 8:48 AM

Version 22.0 (Build 194)

Unfortunally i can't send any videos. For my client safety

I understand that you cannot provide any media for us...but do any other users see this problem where media showing this issue can be uploaded for us to take a look at?

@RasmusKKL I suspect your customer's privacy interest wouldn't preclude you from posting a Mediainfo report of the problem media. Use this link for instructions:

(FAQ) How to post MediaInfo and VEGAS Pro File Properties

@VEGASDerek

You may want to revisit media from the Sony FS6 camera.

I have some media from the camera from a previous issue. Sorry, I don't know the owner of the media to credit without a long search. Sample Media Link

@RasmusKKL

Consider using Shutter Encoder to rewrap your media to Apple Pro Res just to get your project out the door.

Hey! here it's an video of the problem.

Audio 1 it's working fine.

When i put the footage into other editing programs it's working completely fine!

RogerS wrote on 12/2/2024, 8:21 PM

Can you make a new recording of anything (not with a client) that has the same problem?

Also which camera was this shot with?

martr wrote on 12/7/2024, 11:50 AM

Same problem here. Windows 10 with last version. Now, I tried a new clean install of Windows 11 with the latest version of Vegas 22 (22.0 Build 194) but same problem. Recorded on Sony PXW-Z200.

@martr Some of us in this part of the world are unable to download your file from that site.

john_dennis wrote on 12/7/2024, 5:08 PM

@martr These are my results with your file on the machine in my signature.

I get the same results with my laptop with Vegas 22-194 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2.

martr wrote on 12/8/2024, 2:55 AM

Yes, it looks same (the camera does not record a classic stereo track, but 4 separate tracks where the first two are assigned to the internal microphone for that demo video). The timeline shows no problem with the sound for me either. Now please try solo on the first audio track - it will be fine. And then the second - it will have a cracks/popping (or how to describe it).
I am sending result of solo second track render: https://1drv.ms/u/c/4ed9b317e1e27933/EZ-zmJ_Kve1MiEQHQl7xstQBrv-XeLy_tqmIPtj834re8Q?e=iwxLSp

I have same Vegas 22 also on laptop with Windows 10, where is same problem.

I tried one more thing - installed older Vegas 20 on same laptop and the problem does not occur there. Unfortunately I do not have a license for version 21 to try that too.

martr wrote on 12/8/2024, 3:25 AM

Wow, installing the older Vegas 20 also solved the problem that the audio tracks in .m2ts video files rendered in earlier versions of Vegas didn't worked (not loaded to timeline with video). Most likely some codec was installed and they now work in Vegas 22. That's a different problem, but it shows that the new version is not such good.

john_dennis wrote on 12/8/2024, 9:41 AM

@martr I'm not sure I hear the issue. Here are my results with Vegas Pro 22-194.

Both Channels

Solo Stream 1

Solo Stream 2

martr wrote on 12/8/2024, 10:53 AM

Thank you for test. Yes, the problem is in the first and third video. The second video does not contain the popping. It is most noticeable in the third video. In this video, you have a solo on the second track, which confirms the assumption that the first one loaded is always fine.

RasmusKKL wrote on 12/8/2024, 12:53 PM

@martr So it's working perfect in older versions?

martr wrote on 12/8/2024, 1:00 PM

@RasmusKKL In Vegas 20, it is fine, no problem there. Unfortunately I don't have version 21 to try it there.

RasmusKKL wrote on 12/8/2024, 1:08 PM

I tried 21 version. It won't let me input the footage..

martr wrote on 12/8/2024, 1:57 PM

I have both on the same PC. Maybee v20 uses some codecs from v22 and that's why it can be loaded.

RasmusKKL wrote on 12/8/2024, 2:15 PM

Weird. Hope Vegas fixes it soon! Right now I need to compress all the clips for it to work.

martr wrote on 12/9/2024, 5:16 AM

I sent it to technical support.

martr wrote on 1/25/2025, 1:38 PM

Technical support requested system info, but no further response, solution, or any answer came. I emailed again, but no response. The new update doesn't solve the problem. I don't know what to think about it. Very bad experience after all the years I've been using Vegas. Due to the problem, I had to start processing new projects in Davinci Resolve.
