I was just happy that when I ordered my copy of Vegas 6 through the top secret website I ordered the boxed version and I actually got a box (EDIT: With the disc!) instead of a padded envelope with a disc in it!
Zippy, calm down. Vegas 5 will be here when it's here, and not one moment earlier. No amount of whining will speed up the process, nor will it cause an announcement to be made of when it will arrive. The software will be announced when it's ready to ship. That has always been the policy with this software. Deal with it.
It's somewhere between Fremont and Tropicana, on the west side of the road. The Crazy Horse Club and Spearmint Rhino are located nearby. I think you've got the number wrong though, it's #5 Vegas, not the other way around.
To get out of this room, click on your own name, and then click on "Ignore User." You might find yourself less stressed.
Zippy, I'd really, honestly like to meet you someday. Where in this big ole' world are you?
Zippy...I posted a valid suggestion for you. I do not understand why you continue to make yourself an object of scorn and ridicule -- if you spent even 50% of the time you waste posting nonsense on studying DSE's book your clients would like you and you would be a happier guy, I'm sure. I like Vegas for some things, Premiere Pro for others and am condemned to use an AVID Media COmposer for the foreseeable future. All are tools, man. If you get pissed off with Vegas switch to Final Cut or Premiere Pro.
From your stated opinions it would appear Vegas is essentially useless for the type of work you do, what with its manifold limitations and lack of critical features. This is why I suggested you do a cost/benefit analysis of Matrox X100 Pro. Adobe Encore will do everything you require for DVD authoring including writing DVD-9 to a DLT drive for replication and Premiere Pro is real time editing, all the time. Adobe Encore is not the best audio editor in the world but, again, likely won't anger you as much as Sony products appear to.
I doubt if you can afford to go AVID yet but that is your next logical step. Hollywood likes AVID so it may meet your exacting requirements.
