Disgusting amounts of SPAM from MAGIX

Trensharo wrote on 1/5/2019, 1:11 PM

Over the past month+ I've been getting at least 2 (and up to 5) spam emails a day (on average) with upgrade offers, etc. from MAGIX, and there is NO unsubscribe link in the emails. How do I stop this madness. I have like 50 emails from MAGIX in my Trash Bin. They keep coming... every day there is 2-5 of them. AT LEAST. Coming in starting at 7am all teh way until night time.

This is driving me crazy. The setting in account settings for "newsletter" doesn't seem to do anything; and the link they say to click in the "newsletter" does not exist.

I have never had to deal with spam like this in my life, and I'm not using a junk email account for MAGIX since the email address is the log in to access products, etc. Therefore, this is problematic.

Is there anywhere [else] I can report this behavior?

Do you have this box unchecked for all versions of Vegas on all machines?

Even better to look into your Installed products folder after the former installed "Magix Connect" program and if it is uninstall it.

Here we go again, with another strange post by Mr. T.

Like ALL commercial emails from legitimate companies, there is an UNSUBSCRIBE at the bottom of the email. Use it, it's not that hard.

1) Name calling is against the forum rules,

2) Open your eyes man.

Trensharo wrote on 1/5/2019, 3:28 PM

Trolling is as bad as name calling. Touche.

That's not in the emails I have, under general. I have about 50 of them. None of them have that in my gmail app.

I sent a report in. The volume of emails is too high, anyways. Their system should be able to bunch these things.

No not "touche." You called me a "Troll" and a "retard." You deserve to be banned.

Go to https://www.magix.com/us/support/my-service-center/ and click "Info Service". there's a box you can check or uncheck.

It doesn't work for me (I still can't get onto the mailing list no matter what I try) but if it's checked for you then try unchecking it.

I get an email for PhotoStory Deluxe about once a week or more and an upgrade offer to VP16 with about the same frequency for the last couple of months. Also, some other less frequent emails for miscellaneous products. In defense of the OP, there IS NO unsubscribe link in the emails. The email app on the iPad has an unsubscribe function but that is dependent on the address the email is sent from being set up to accept unsubscribe messages. I did go to my Magix account and uncheck the link as Nick described above. I got another email today since then but perhaps it takes some time to take effect. I think the "disgusting" adjective is a dramatic exaggeration, but then again, excessive exaggeration is the norm these days. Overall, I basically agree that Magix has too aggressive of an advertising policy. The "Connect" app that gets installed with products is what really crosses a line in my opinion. Of course, it is easy enough to uninstall but still....

I'm noticing a big increase in marketing emails from many companies with whom I've done business. Every couple of months I can tolerate and even appreciate but once or twice a week is too much. Must be some desperation out there.
