DRIVER UPDATE - CANNOT RENDER WITH GPU

bev-sBev wrote on 7/29/2022, 3:32 PM

Vegas 19 Build 636 - it did the same with the latest Vegas build. I reverted back the OS to an image thinking it was a Windows update problem.

Windows 10 Home

5950X - 6800XT - 64GB RAM

I originally updated Windows and AMD drivers AND Vegas 19 to the latest on my laptop and found this error message when I went to render the video...

"AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE CREATING THE MEDIA FILE UNTITLED.MP4

THE REASON FOR THE ERROR COULD NOT BE DETERMINED."

This is using both CPU and GPU (AMD). I can render without GPU.

I am about to revert to the old AMD driver - what suggestions can you give with regards the error though it is a GPU driver issue?

22.7.1 update. Adrenaline. With the sound suppression which is excellent btw.

Do I just wait and see what happens? I REALLY want that sound suppression feature?

Is anyone else having this problem?

I will update as I revert to the old driver now.

Ok, rolled back the driver to previous version and all is well.

Sorry for the confusing initial message. Would be interested to know if anyone else got the 22.7.1 AMD Driver and had the same problem.

I made a report to AMD. The sound suppression software they have is excellent so I hope they fix it soon.

make sure you are using the enterprise pro drivers.

I've not had much luck with Enterprise q2. Particularly on my main machine with a 6900xt. Tried 22.7.1 briefly to see if it made any difference with any Vegas issues I noticed, and it didn't, so I went back to 22.5.1... after a clean-out with DDU. 22.7.1 is working fine on an older win10 machine with a 5700xt so I've left it installed there. In the past I generally preferred amd enterprise drivers but win10 and 11 have been undergoing allot of video processing changes under the covers lately and my sense is that enterprise is not keeping up. Will give q3 a try when it comes out.

AMD has not gotten back after input. Cannot find any sense that the driver is updated. So I use my Nvidia 2060 laptop for sound suppression. Get it together AMD.

The only WHQL driver for Radeon is 22.5.1. The 22.7.1 is no longer listed and 22.8.1 does, in the release notes say this:

VCE presets may be in mixing in VEGAS Pro™ with some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon™ RX 6600 Graphics.

I'm using 22.5.1 without problems.
