See what happens with discs....When you are a registered user, you can still download (stream) your DVDA from Magix Support.

Why won’t you let this go already? I’m stressed out with this thing enough already

DMT3 wrote on 4/15/2025, 10:41 AM

@Ken-Tonks I still use Bluray Disks and DVDs for hard copies. Don't let it stress you. Do what works for you. Others get a little too strong in their preference. I am still on Windows 10 because it works for me. I use Vegas 20 beacuse it works for me and I use DVDs and Blurays because they work for me. Enjoy!

Probably you oversaw the help I offered...I'm out...good luck!

Hey all and thanks for all your help. I’m still having issues. Tried so many different setting combos. I think I really need to get on a call with someone who knows where I need to have setting. Willing to pay if anyone can help. Is there any paid or non paid phone support at all? Just had my program freeze twice on my brand new windows 11 and my computer shut down with a blue screen while rendering a video. So I must have something really screwed up. Any help would be so appreciated and again I can pay a reasonable amount for someones time. Thanks

Ken-Tonks wrote on 4/15/2025, 2:56 PM

Alrighty then….after 7 test burns I seem to have found a good combination of settings. If anyone knows about burning music dvd’s (in my case from mp4’s of various quality), can you look at these settings and see if anything pops out that might make video or sound better? Would really appreciate it.

Is there a format that will show normal on square TV and box top and bottom on newer screens. Pictures look good now but on widescreen tv it pulls picture out and makes everything look wider than it really is. Any setting to have it crop rather than fit the screen

EricLNZ wrote on 4/15/2025, 5:26 PM

Ken, it's your TV settings doing the stretch. So you need to alter it there

EDIT: Checking on my Panasonic I find it's actually the Aspect button on the remote. Wherever it is on yours it needs to be on "16:9" and not any of the options that stretch or otherwise distort the picture.

Ken-Tonks wrote on 4/15/2025, 5:49 PM

Thanks again and I bet that will work, but just ran second test burn and it seems starting project as “square” is the key. Then cropping and vids that are way off to fit screen better. Looks so much better! Here are the settings in case anyone else needs them.

@Ken-Tonks Hi, off/on topic - for your screenshots -

Press the Windows key + Shift + S at the same time,

The screen will go slightly darker & these options will show at the top of the screen. Choose Rectangular snip to make a selection on screen with the mouse or Windows snip to select a window. When you have clicked or made your selection the captured image will appear in Notifications bottom right of the screen where you can open & save it for uploading on here.

@Gid Some of us ain't got no stankin' Windows key.

We do have a place to put our pens and other paraphernalia and we have sound effects when we type. Most of us still have a Print Screen key and Microsoft Paint.

Even though my wife hasn't learned to use Control C and Control V in the 43 years that we've had some form of PC in the house, the concept is within the reach of most of the population and obviates the need to use a camera or cell phone for screen shots.

Have you tried windows 11? I went from 7 to 11 and many things you could do with one click or one hand you need 2 on 11! Even the snipping tool you have to hit 3 keys to start it. WTF! 😁

Ken-Tonks wrote on 4/16/2025, 3:00 PM

Just FYI, yesterday I burned 15 dvd’s with all different combinations of template and render settings to come up with that winning combo. Thanks Eric and all (even 3Point!) for getting me on right track!

@Ken-Tonks said: "Have you tried windows 11?"

I'm currently dual-booting Windows 10 and Windows 11 on four of my five intel computers (even the ones that are "not capable" of running Windows 11). As has been my practice, I will move permanently to the current version of Windows in the last week of official Microsoft support for the deprecated version. I keep system images for all the hardware that I still have so I can make use of old technology if needed. I still have a machine that has a floppy disk, IDE hard drive ports and a firewire port and the Windows XP Pro image to go with it.

I've found this site: Unattended Windows Installation quite a resource for de-kludging Windows 10 and Windows 11 and making them work the way I want them to work.

The tool is so easy to use. Much better than Printscreen and Windows Paint. That's really old hat. Sorry John.

I just have an icon, maybe it's a shortcut, sitting on the left side of my Taskbar. No need to touch any keys.

I have it pinned but for whatever reason I always go for the keyboard + using the keyboard you can capture pop-ups or drop-downs.
