It's probably 10 minutes of code for Sony to fix this. Why don't they? Too busy working on 14, 15, 16 paid versions already??????

Sony, WTH???

Thanks, Warper. That did the trick for me. Still can't figure why the original zip would not open.

If I have any slow motion footage on my timeline that script doesn't work correctly. It's shame Sony doesn't want to support the GH4.

This bug still exists in VP13.0 build 444

Darn, it's sad to hear that this issue still keeps us from working productively with GH4 footage.

I would like to add here that not just GH4 footage has this import issue but also Xiaomi Yi sport action camera as well, this was reported on other Vegas forum.:

When he run the same script in this thread, issue goes away.

In the meantime, here is my workaround:

Hi, I had an idea for a different approach to dealing with this issue, so I downloaded SharpDevelop and built StreamAlign.

Having to run a script to fix the length of an event every time you drag a clip to the timeline simply wasn't going to work for me. Even worse, working with these files in the Trimmer is a nightmare because the audio track is squashed all the way to the left because the video track is so much longer.

Basically, StreamAlign scans your project for clips with mismatched video and audio streams and creates a subclip of the source media with video and audio streams aligned to the same length. The subclip's length will match the length of the shorter stream (audio or video).

You now have a clip that you can drag directly to the timeline with matching video and audio track lengths, no chopping necessary. Even better, you can also work with these clips in the Trimmer just like a normal clip, with video and audio tracks filling the full width of the Trimmer window.

I've tested StreamAlign in a lot of different scenarios, but I need more testing from others. If you work with footage from the Panasonic GH4, GH3, FZ1000, or any other camera that Vegas opens with mismatched video/audio lengths, please download and test StreamAlign and send me your feedback :)

Yuk. Had a GH2 for a couple of years. Upgraded to GH3. Popped some footage into SV 13 453. What the? What kind of settings/options could I possibly have to automagically take what I believe is the last frame and extend it - considerably? OK, take to the Internet and find this life saving thread. I cannot believe a problem like this has this kind of lifetime. @Sol M. I have a project with several GH2 tracks but, more importantly, ones that have been messed with one way or another ranging from usual event FX to some speed & opacity changes. Tried StreamAlign and it found the one GH3 file on a "GH2" video track and performed the functions listed. Of course, it is then up to the editor to apply the subclip to the timeline as appropriate. Thanks to all for bringing this quite nasty problem to light with workaround suggestions.

This bug seems to fixed in VEGAS Pro 14.0 (Build 161). I tested with some 24p (true 24.000 fps) Panasonic GH4 footage. Thanks!
