Goulian Vegas Pro Contest

It's not a problem. You follow the rules on the contest page.
ritsmer wrote on 9/4/2013, 8:18 AM
Is that a SCS official statement ? - I mean: just skip the attached guidelines ?

- then what about all the time invested by more than half of us creating our contributions on wrong prerequisites ?
set wrote on 9/4/2013, 8:28 AM
This one was never thought to me, when creating my edit... I thought more to "complementary" between those rules.... Well, it is in the hand of the contest judges now....

Well, on the contest page is lists the same ones as the legal disclaimer, so if you wanted to ignore the rules they publicized and use something that was questionable, that's your choice.

??? - but I certainly do not want to ignore the rules - on the contrary - I want to comply with all the given rules.

So - when I and many others find some additional regulations in the downloaded material - then ... ??

I find it difficult to understand why Sony Creative Software writes some additional regulations in the downloaded material - if (part of) these regulations just should be ignored ??

This is the reason why I and others long time ago (and several posts above) asked officially about this and other issues - even with a petition to the Forum Admin - in order to have these ambiguities cleared.
But no answer - and now we have passed the final day of the contest.

So - now - it must, of course, be expected that the videos shall be judged at the given sets of rules.

Anyone know who won this or who the finalists were/are?
TheHappyFriar wrote on 9/9/2013, 10:18 PM
Nothing yet...
stbo wrote on 9/11/2013, 6:40 AM

It's only been 10 days, and it looks like there are a bunch of them to go through. Let's give them some time - I for one would be happy to know that each video was watched and judged in a timely, considered manner...
TheHappyFriar wrote on 9/18/2013, 10:01 AM
Page is no longer working. So maybe they are/did decide who won.

I presume the award have been made at this stage - it would be really nice if the winning entry could be posted here so everybody could see it and learn from it.

Anybody from SCS any comments/feedback on the entries?

Any news about the winner?

This is my entry:

Some notes:
- Watch in HD!
- Everything is done with Vegas.
- Alle used media (including the plane sounds and music) are from the provided contest material.
- I have recently edited the Youtube privacy settings from hidden (link only) to public, hence the different date.
- Youtube recognized the music so it placed the ads, not me.

Do we have an annouced winner yet?
Hope they post something to let us know.
Would be nice to be able to watch the winning vid.

I'd guess with them taking down the contest page and no word yet they could of decided that none of the videos were good enough to award a prize.

Just my thoughts.

@ TheHappyFriar

Your thoughts make me unhappy Lol.

I could really use that wireless mic which is included in the prize.

I have saved the prize list.
Once again reading it with a drooling face:

"The selected winner will receive the new Sony Turnkey Field Acquisition Backpack, along with a full suite of Sony Creative Software products. The Turnkey Field Acquisition Backpack offers the essentials to shoot, capture and edit on the go. This kit contains a compact pro camcorder (HXR-NX30U), wireless mic system (UWP-V1), pro headphones (MDR-7506) , Xperia™ Tablet, tripod, LED light, backpack and more. It's a $5399 value, made even more valuable with an additional $2000 in Sony Creative Software."

TheHappyFriar wrote on 10/5/2013, 12:10 PM
There was also a address to to get a list of winners. Did you save that?
VMP wrote on 10/5/2013, 1:20 PM
I have saved the whole contest page as HTML and PDF for own reference.

But I am not sure if it is allowed to attach it here publicly. Probably not.

I do not see any mention of a 'list of winners' page.

These are some of the links that is on the page:

Vegas Pros page: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspros
Full instructions and rules: https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/nextvegaspro/rules
Terms and conditions: https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/nextvegaspro/rules

TheHappyFriar Maybe this is what you meant?

I found it on this page at the bottom: https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/nextvegaspro/rules

'Winners List'

TheHappyFriar wrote on 10/5/2013, 3:54 PM
Yup, that's it. Somebody needs to send them a letter. :)
set wrote on 10/5/2013, 6:51 PM
Someone is asking for the similar thing too, in FB: https://www.facebook.com/SonySoftware/posts/10153319189275118 (Sept. 29th)

Q: "When will the finalists/winners of the Sony Vegas Pros Contest be notified?"
A: "The judges are still reviewing entries."
ritsmer wrote on 10/6/2013, 5:31 AM
Has any of you - or do you know of anybody who has - been asked to send in the contest .veg file ?
TheHappyFriar wrote on 10/6/2013, 6:28 AM

VMP wrote on 10/15/2013, 9:40 AM
I just got a call from Sony!

I jumped high hoping it would be about the contest.

But.. it was a research call regarding my visit at IBC and Sony Professional.

Did this ever have a result?
Did a quick Google and found zip.
