I have an mp4 file with audio synchronized from another program. When I attempt to import that final mp4 file (w/ audio) to vegas, it does not recognize the audio. How can I fix this?
* I found a temporary fix by changing a folder name, but it makes editing too slow to use.
Can someone please recommend a repair for vegas to recognize my mp4 audio file?

By renaming the compoundplug folder, Vegas will use the mcmp4plug2.dll codec instead of compoundplug.dll codec to decode the file.
That might make some flavors of file decode more correctly, but it will also break support for others, and cause many files to play much less smoothly. Nevertheless it's a useful workaround in some situations and I'll add it to this post.

I tried with Main profile as well as High profile. I succeeded with AVC in an M2TS container but playback is not smooth.

Using individual files straight from the source works great, but I used powerdirector because of its auto audio/video sync feature. I know vegas has a third party plugin that auto syncs too, but plural eyes costs way too much for something I already have. Powerdirector's XAVC seems to be the only solution right now, so I'll just run with that for now. I'm just wondering how come some mp4 files don't include audio in vegas 14.
