Good point, I also always fall over it.
Would be nice if we could choose this or that

When zooming into the timeline right now, wherever my mouse is, it zooms into the scrubhead, not where I'm pointing. I CAN'T get used to that and is just fundamentally counter to my instinct. Is there a way to change it so it zooms in at my mouse and not the scrub head?

To the best of my knowledge, it always have been like that since forever which is fine with me as I got used to it, but it would be nice to have the option to change that!

This is the most scientific and efficient way.

What you want is Premiere way. But that way isn't good. Because when rolling mouse wheel, Most people's hand and mouse are more or less shaky. It make the zooming in inaccurate.

However, in Vegas way, scrubhead is not shaky so the zooming is accurate. And Vegas way will put the shift scrubhead position to the timeline center. This is what Premiere way can't do.
