Imported MOV Files flicker or are blank

Hello Vegas community,

I'm working on a project with lots of imported mov files. Everything was fine since 2 weeks ago. I open vegas file today and many mov files are blank or occasionally they will show but either for one frame or will quickly flicker quickly flicker (appear/disappear). I've searched in this forum and Google... my problem remains. I don't understand what could have changed! Nothing on my end :(

specs :

Vegas 20
Windows 10 / 64bit
Graphic card : AMD Radeon HD 6670

Thanks for your time!

@sandra-poderon
In such inexplicable cases, it has often proven useful to reset the application.
Follow the procedure exactly:

Thanks for the reply Walter

I was using Vegas v17 2 weeks ago... I said Vegas 20 because I've upgraded to 20 this morning thinking maybe an upgraded version could handle more mov files inside the file.. but no, I opened my v17 file in Vegas v20 this morning and still the same problem as v17. I don't think it's a cache issue :(

Do the "MOV" files require QuickTime? That is turned off by default in current versions of VEGAS and you have to go to Options - Preferences - Deprecated Features and turn it back on.

But to be certain, you would need to post the type of video inside those MOV files.

Thanks jetdv for the response,

Yes the QT plugin was turned on, I've tried GPU acceleration ON/OFF... I've been working with Vegas for more than 10 years. Never had this mov flicker/empty problem before. Is there a limit of mov files Vegas can handle? I've upgraded to V20 hoping it would solve it...

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue... there was one post on Google with the same problem but no response...

Thanks everyone for your time 😰

You first said that you had not changed anything yourself - but then you talk about a reinstallation.
But a reinstallation keeps your (possibly wrong) personal settings, which you can only get rid of with a reset and deleting the cache.

Hi Walter :)

1- I was working with v17, everything was fine.

2- Noticed the problem today with my v17.. tried several solutions, nothing fixed it.

3- I bought Vegas V20 today, opened my v17 file hoping it would fix the problem, but still remains :(

Thx

Sandra

@sandra-poderon

As walter-i said

Try a reset. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

Make sure you tick the box to clear the cache.

You never did this: But to be certain, you would need to post the type of video inside those MOV files.
