Instant crashes on a high-end PC.

Hello. I have been using and paying Sony Vegas Pro for well over a year now. And it always had a hard time running the program for a while without a crash. Iv tried everything i possibly could, but nothing really made a significant change. But i tolirated the issue and hoped it would get better as the program keeps being updated. Of coarse, it never did. In fact, it was getting worse and worse and now it reached a point which is way to ridiculous. I opened Sony Vegas about 10 times now, and as soon as i make some changes to the video... The program instantly crashes! I restarted my PC, i waited everything to properly load up before toucing anything in the program, still, an instant crash. Im running a youtube channel with about 530k subscribers. So i really cant have this many issues with the software... Iv googled fixes for Sony Vegas crashes way, way to many times now. But iv lost all hope for fixing this. This is my final attempt though. If someone out here can help me out, i will be able to continue using the program. If not, ill have to try my luck with some other software, since this isnt an enjoyable experiance at all.

Important PC Specs: Intel i7-8700, RTX 2070, 32GB RAM, SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB
Sony Vegas PRO Version: 18 (Build 527)

Is it pirated? If not it's not Sony Vegas, it's just Vegas Pro. It's owned by Magix.

This isn't particularly high-end system but is fine for Vegas, and many of us use similar hardware.

First reset everything to defaults and clear the cache (esp. whatever changes you made from YouTube). https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

Second go to help/driver update and check for updated GPU drivers. Feel free to share a screenshot of what you find. Is your Intel iGPU in use? If not, enable it in bios to help with decoding media.

Third: share MediaInfo about what media you commonly use. Crashes are usually Vegas x Media x GPU. Here's how to do it: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

It is not pirated and yes! Its just Vegas Pro, by Magix. Sorry for that.
Before i reset all that, this might be a dumb question but i have to make sure... Is there a chance that .veg files will not work after that reset? As i said im currently editing a video and it would be painful to lose all that progress...
And there was a driver available to download! Thank you for that! Here is a screenshot:

And about the MediaInfo, hopefully i did everything correctly:

It looks like you are on the latest NVIDIA driver so that's fine.

Resetting does nothing to projects or media files. You will have to redo custom settings but it's worth it in my experience

Looking at your media, that's probably the culprit. Just for testing purposes use software like Handbrake to convert all these files to an easier to edit version of AVC (keep fps the same, don't use hardware encoding), use swap video files to select the new versions, and your problems may disappear.

Hmm, alright! So before putting the media in Vegas, i should simply convert it to MP4 with Handbrake. Which would mean that i can render my gameplay stuff in MKV quality, which isnt really supported my Vegas, but if im convering it anyways, i should aim for higher quality. Ill do my best to figure all that out without messing something up, thanks! Just one more question, you mentioned intel iGPU... Sorry for bothering but i cant seem to find where to see if thats being used... Thanks for such quick replies by the way!

Try the transcode as you describe and then bring into Vegas (possible to use the "swap video files" feature for an existing project).

GPU is specified in preferences/ video snd file io for decoding.
