Did you look in the OFXs. It can be found as VEGAS Timecode - I can't see any reason why this would no be part of the trial.

It is still there in VP15. Which software language do you use?

GARPENHOLM wrote on 8/30/2017, 8:16 AM

I double checked the OFX tree, but there is just "Checkerboard", "HitFilm Light Flares", "Noice Texture", "Solid Color" and "Titles & Text" in there, (...and no, it's not inside the "Titles & Text" either)

I have the English version 15.0 (Build 177)

Operating System
  Platform: Windows 10.0 (64-bit)
  Version: 10.00.15063
  Language: Swedish
  System locale: English
  User locale: English

It is no Mediagenerator so you looked wrong.

Look in FX

Thank you Cornico!

A note to the developers:
When adding a text with a generated timecode I would have called it a "Generator", it's no logic in calling it an "effect", but I may be wrong?

Though what you say is logical, treating the Timecode FX as Media Generator would drop the chance to use it at different stages within the signal flow - Media, Event, Track, Output FX, each with a slightly different affect. E.g. as Media Generator there would be no way to read the source clip's timecode data which is only possible when used as Media FX.

OK that makes sense.
It would be nice to let the search field above each tab to be able to find FXs in other than the selected tab though.
