Issue with SONY FX6 / MXF files in veg 22

Hello, i have the latest version of vegas 22; very rarely freezes! For some reason when i bring in footage from SONY FX6 (mkv) the audio loads super super slow and lags the whole clip down. And if i zoom into the audio in the timeline, it completely freezes vegas once i start getting super zoomed into the audio. If i delete the audio completely and leave just the footage, then everything works normal (i can zoom into the timeline no prob)

Windows 10 Sager Laptop
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-11900K @ 3.50GHz   3.50 GHz
128 GB (128 GB usable)
Nvdia 3080ti

Also the sessions created with the FX6 footage takes super long to open... compared to projects shot with other cameras.

my work around has been having to re-render the audio as a wav and and deleting/replacing the stock audio thats attached to the footage and re-grouping - which is not ideal.

I've seen this with multiple formats now, Vegas's new decoder is incompatible with anything that has more latency than a SSD, and this can also include SSD's connected via USB as well as hard drives. Last user that I saw with this problem I think had a *.mts file, and was using a 4TB SSD via USB.

Are your files on HDD or SSD via USB?

Hmm. Eight channel PCM audio. PCM is wav so wonder why converting helps unless perhaps your wav files are only 16 bit?

Anyway I'm out of my depth here so I'll leave the experts to comment.

Thanks... So issue happens on both, internal SSD and External - Im not having any issue with the audio quality or any cracking sound etc .. all channels sound normal.

when i bring FX6 Footage into the timeline (and audio is on timeline with footage)
1. It takes super long to build the audio peaks
2. When i press play there is a small half second lag before it plays
3. When i begin to zoom into the timeline (and i am zoomed in to the audio close enough to make precise cuts) it hits a threshold and freezes the program, at that point i can smash the zoom out button a few times and it unfreezes eventually and zooms out!
4. If i ungroup the audio from the footage and delete it , then everything works perfectly (the footage isnt lagging and i can zoom into the timeline fully)

I work with other codecs from other cameras all the time and do not have this audio issue!

@Kyle-Elrod Upload a sample file from the camera to a cloud sharing site, (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.) Share and paste the link here on the forum.

Others can help determine whether it affects all systems or a specific set of hardware.

I agree with John, it would be great to have a sample file (feel free to just shoot one out the window, etc.) for testing.

From left to right is same file with 8 tracks read from HDD/Sata SSD/NVME SSD.

The pause keeps reducing although NVME SSD still does have a pause. On a well populated timeline it may get worse and account for the severe lag you see. You can edit from HDD with VP20 fine if you had to, but not VP22
