Making the most important Vegas audio filters system-wide?

megabit wrote on 2/12/2017, 2:15 AM

I'd love to have at least the basic Vegas audio filters available as VST plugins in Resolve; is it possible to just put the dlls into my VSTPlugins directory? If so, where to copy them from? Thanks guys;

Piotr

PS. Also, what happened to my Sony Noise Reduction plugin? I had it with pre-Magix VP13 and Soundforge Pro installation... How to make them available again - if not for Resolve, then at least for Vegas?

Vegas plugins are not VST, they are DX. Only DX capable programs can be used. I do not know if Resolve can run DX plugins. For example, Reaper has this capability.

PC-ESTUDIO1:

- VEGAS Pro 19 B651.

- Windows 11 64 bits - Intel Core i7 10.700K CPU @ 3.80GHz

- Motherboard Rog Strix 8460-H Gaming - RAM 32GB.

- nVidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super.

- Intel UHD Graphics 630.

PC-ESTUDIO2:

-Shotcut.

-Kdenlive.

-Linux Mint 21.2 -Victoria - Intel Core i5 6.400 CPU @ 2.7GHz

-Motherboard Gigabyte H110M-S2PV DD3 - RAM 16GB

-Intel Graphics 530.

LAPTOP:

-HP Victus 16-e

-VEGAS Pro 19 B651

Thanks, my audio knowledge is close to none :) I'm afraid Resolve will only see VST plugins, as it automatically found and can use most of them.

I do not use Resolve at present, but keep in mind that the audio editing capability in Vegas is far superior to Resolve.

I still have it. I have VP10, 12, 13 & 14 installed and Sound Forge Pro 11.

Yep. I just realized I didn't have SoundForge installed at all - now I have NR back (working in Vegas); anyone can recommend an audio NR OFX plugin that would work with Resolve? My problem is I find myself doing more and more in Resolve rather than round-tripping between it and VP...

Recent thread on noise reduction plugins here but most are VSTs not OFX: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/noise-reduction-options--104948/ I Googled "davinci resolve vst" and it sounds like VSTs should work OK.

megabit wrote on 2/12/2017, 11:45 PM

Nick, I actually meant VST not OFX (too early in the morning, and before my coffee)... So, which free VST plugin would you recommend? (I want it free, as any serious audio work I'll be doing in Vegas/Soundforge, anyway)... Oh, and it would need to be a 64-bit VST; Resolve doesn't seem to work with 32-bit ones.

I don't know of a free one other than the built-in NR that comes with Sound Forge. Audacity is free but it's not a plugin.

This free VST plugin (http://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/) works in Vegas.

It has a noise reduction option.

megabit wrote on 2/13/2017, 3:21 AM

The Reaper also works in Resolve; thanks!
