I tried to install Sony Media Manager 2.4b on a Windows 8 system. Windows 8 does not support SQL Server 2005, therefore I installed SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM with SP1 directly from Microsoft.

At the end of the Media Manager installation I get message

"Unable to adjust the security on service MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR2"

Has anyone found a way to install Media Manager on a Windows 8 system?

Thanks.

With kind regards,

Are you installing the software with "Run as Administrator"?

Have you tried setting up the compatibility mode on the installer before launching? I would try WinXP SP3 for something like SQL 2005, or Win7.

If it was not designed for SQL Server 2008 then I wouldn't install that version.

I have the Media Manager working fine in Windows 8. You just need to tell Windows to stop complaining about incompatibilities with SQL Server 2005 and keep installing and eventually it all gets installs and works. Maybe there will be problems later but it seems to work for now.

In Windows 10 does not work Media Manager 2.4b. There are ways to solve this problem?

Thank you. It is a pity that the problem can not be fixed.
