Monitor flashes black when previewing full-screen

When I attempt to use the full screen preview (the button with the tool tip of "Video Preview on External Monitor (Alt+Shift+4)"), the video does go full screen, but it flashes all-black every half-second, continuously. Is it because this button is only made to preview on an external monitor, not my (one and only) main monitor?

I'm on Vegas 23 302, on an Intel i7-11700b with 16GB of ram, with on-board video. I updated my Intel video drivers hoping it would fix this, all that did is break Vegas completely (but I got it working again thanks to answers in this forum - I had to copy a working vcomp140.dll into the Vegas folder).

Or is there a different button to use when I want to preview full screen on my main monitor?

Thanks.

Your GPU is an iGPU?

Yes, Intel UHD Graphics.

Yes, exactly.

@Stillnet

These are the "facts" about this issue as I know them.

  • Vegas Pro doesn't fail this way on my dual-boot system running Windows 10 Pro.
  • Vegas Pro 21-23 fails on the same dual-boot system running Windows 11 Pro.
  • Earlier versions of Vegas Pro don't exhibit this behavior on Windows 10 Pro or Windows 11 Pro.
  • Adding another video adapter and moving the one display to it makes the issue disappear.
  • The on-die intel adapter can be part of that configuration running the timeline screen as long as some other adapter runs the Preview display on a second display.
  • Disabling opencl in Internal Preferences works for Vegas Pro 21 and 22, but not for 23-302.
  • To date, I have found no combination of Windows 11 Update, Intel driver version or any other system change that allows one to have one and only one display on an Intel UHD Graphic 770 while running a full screen preview for Vegas Pro 23-302.
