John-Ivar has released the project files for his spectacular user-made VEGAS ad... I thought it might make a great benchmark for testing Vegas performance. Here is the link to download it.
@RogerS thanks. I'll test again to make sure that the numbers are correct. There was one place where you could put the Dynamic RAM numbers and I did. For the tests that you specifically wanted "0", I changed it to "0".
@Reyfox I was hoping you'd post your times and I reckoned you'd be around 8 seconds for the AI test which would validate my 7 seconds... But 3 seconds! We are doing it right aren't we? 😧 We need more AMD's to post. Where are you @Yellandkeil ?
@RogerS, I submitted another completion of the benchmark. I triple checked this time, so this should be totally accurate.
@Vincent-Brice I'm not sure if I did something wrong/right in the first benchmark, but I redid them again. The AI render time is 0:14, not 0:03. That is more in line with the differences between our CPU and GPU.
I made sure the Preview in Vegas was Best>Full, Project Properties>Full Resolution rendering quality>Best.
@Vincent-Brice I suffer from slight Dyslexia.... glad things are done again, and with I hope correct timings. I have to have my wife double check for me text that I write to make sure things are "ok".
Just built my new PC. Vegas gives me a excuse for justifying the cost of new build. If I had more money I would be in Microcenter everyday buying and building.
Here are some results from my new build. (In my signature). Results from VEGAS Pro Fanmade Ad
I think I ran these test properly with settings? On AI test added mosaic style transfer. Dynamic ram preview set to 16324mb. Render at best/auto.
@Sassylola These settings look fine from what I can tell. Dynamic ram preview is whatever you prefer except for the preview test when you should set it to 0.
Can you fill out the form at least one time? (I can cut and paste the values that don't change and add render times if you don't have time to fill out the form more than once).
I updated your benchmarks- congrats, you have the two fastest times! Great times on the AI and you can see here the big difference between RTX 40XX and 20XX.
@Sassylola I noticed that your Ai Fx settings were not the same as the original project. It's predefined reference Udnie, details: orignal. If that changes the times any let me know and I can update them.

Yes, it makes a difference for me (though obviously doesn't change overall times much, which are amazing 😀:
When you say file i/o do you mean preferences/video? I wouldn't think decoding would make much difference though which GPU the AI uses would make a difference.
Do you have a result for the AI section when rendered with Mainconcept as well? That's the third render template you used.
Even with the revision these are very strong times!
@Sassylola In your image above, you are showing the Video Event FX of the preceding clip to the one I'm showing. You're showing "Woman in Field" and there's not supposed to be Style Transfer applied to that clip, just the following one. That's going to bring your "corrected time" for the AI section way back down again 😉

Do you mean my AVC-Rendering? It's similar as the HEVC-Rendering, AVC=03:23min, HEVC=03:26min.
Be frankly, such test is not very meaningful for me; I do HDR10, never use AVC and stability is the highest principle.
I've just rolled AdrenalinEdition back to 22.5.1, with the newer driver 23.2.2 I got better performance but had (a small) problem with the 2nd screen preview switching between HDR/SDR.
Anyway quite satisfied with my HW thus less comparison with/to the other, and the next upgrade would be in 5 years or so.
I sold my old PC parts on Ebay and sold for more than I thought, so I exchanged my 4080 for a Zotac GAMING GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO.
I did a clean DDU on the 4080 with a shutdown when installing a new GPU. I installed the 4090 and installed latest Nvidia studio drivers. When I went to do the AI render test on RogerS benchmark it was taking my 4090 over a minute to complete, while my 4080 did it in seconds. I uninstalled and reinstalled my studio drivers, rolled back my Intel IGPU drivers as there was a update the day I installed my 4090, and still slow render time. I started to think is it the GPU? I uninstalled Vegas and reinstalled with the 4090 and times were back to normal. I might have been able to do a shift/start to reset Vegas that may have done the trick, but I did not think of that until re installation of Vegas.
Best NV Render Time. Best results over most of these benchmarks are faster after the second or third run.
MC Concept render. This was a little slower than my last benchmark. I do have my 13900K PL1 set to 125 W and PL 2 set to 253 W. I get no thermal throttle with these settings.
QSV Render with newest Intel driver installed Ver 31.0.101.4146
AI enabled NV Render AI disabled NV Render
MC with AI enabled. MC disabled
QSV AI enabled QSV AI disabled
I also did the AI torture test and will post them.
