Not OT: Completely Fake Sony User Forum

musicvid10 wrote on 7/4/2011, 5:10 PM
Here's a scrape of these very SCS user forums, but with completely fraudulent user names and profiles.

One of my posts now belong to "naomi." Johnmeyer is "Tinkerbells" and Nick is "Lovingly." Be sure and go check out all of your "new" identities before Sony gets a restraining order against these idiots. This is a real head-turner.

I see that you are now Nick Tyler. You look younger that I thought you would be :)

No moderator, I guess, or your post wouldn't have been cross posted.

Looks like they're harvesting this forum based on the tree view of the threads & each new tree is a new thread on that forum.

I can't find who I am because nothing I've posted in recently has anything I've typed. :'( I wanted to see how hot of a chick I was now! :)

I appear to have a bunch of different names.
For example, Cody Banks, Sabrina garzotto and sally coker.
Multiple personality disorder I guess :)

lmao, I'm apparently "Michael Flanigan". Not nearly as awesome a name as "Everando" but I'll live with it.

Gotta say that's pretty entertaining, though a little bummed the links to my vids don't work there! Booooo!!!

Wow, pretty creepy, Looks like they're trolling for AdWords click-throughs.
A low-key attempt to make some money.

On the other hand, some pretty valuable information there, and I've never seen so many pretty tech oriented chicks in one place.
A. Grandt wrote on 7/4/2011, 10:27 PM
Musicvid, your first post of this thread has been "mirrored" as well. But it ain't no 'chick' in that profile least I hope not :)

As for why. it's a con, and they've added plenty of ads.

I run across this type of thing quite a lot when I'm searching for tech answers to this or that. Whole forum being kidnapped and republished, sometimes with messages to create a new account to see the answer...

"I run across this type of thing quite a lot when I'm searching for tech answers to this or that."

That's exactly how I ran into it. I was searching for answers on chroma subsampling, and one of the first results was my own post on that fraudulent website!

And stop calling me Shirley!

Hmm... my "alias" name is Janine Rose!!

How can they get trough with this? Isn't there anything that can be done (by SCS or anyone else) to stop this fraud?
