I must say the visuals are a huge improvement from John Cline’s “what do you look like 2010”

After all the security issues Sony's been having, Sony should take this very seriously and shut this site down and track these guys and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law for copyright infringement or whatever they can get them on.

Sorry, coming from a financial network perspective we have zero tolerance for anything of this sort. This is a form of phishing for identity theft which SONY SHOULD NOT TOLERATE to protect it's customers.

What if , as dumb as it may sound, a newbie inadvertently signed onto this site and logged in w/ their login and password. The criminals on this site would have all they need to access this person's actual web account.

Believe me, I've seen many bank customers get caught by similar things where they inadvertently give their login and passwords to redirected phishing scam sites.

I am now a good-looking female with a small child. Despite that, iZotope RX still works.

i was under the impression isotope rx was supposed to stop squealling and howl-around?

Hmmm... I'm "chinadoll". I think they got that wrong. I should be "huladoll"

I'm another one who's had his name changed but at least I didn't have the sex change operation which some of you seem to have gone through with such courage and fortitude!

According to this and this the domain is registered by Chen Jing and hosted by Club Uptime LLC in Florida.

As it's on a USA server it should be pretty easy to get taken down with a DMCA takedown notice.

At a glance it doesn't look like they are publishing our embedded images. I'm not sure who actually owns what we write here. The SCS terms of service make that sound a bit vague, so I suspect anyone sending their own DMCA might be on dodgy ground. It would be safer to come from SCS.

According to the official list there is no designated agent for notification of claims of infringement (but as I understand it by USA law there should be), however this page gives legal@clubuptime.com as the legal contact address. I've sent a ton of DMCA notices over the last few years and they always work.

Well I'm now Eric Hayes. At least I'm still a guy!!

I guess the thing that concerns me relates to the personal information on the My Account information. That's where all my order info, name, address, credit credit card info etc. resides.

I couldn't log in and noticed that only my original comment was in the last thread I posted. What a crock.

Sony needs to do something about this.

I can see what the people who ripped off the forum are attempting to achieve, all the ad-banners are one venue of income, the other is probably the registration, where they may be trying to obtain personal information from people not realizing that it's a fake site.

But why bother changing the names and add fake profile images?

I've changed gender AND race.

Now, THIS thread is on sonytalk. The more posts here presumably will keep this thread on top, hopefully alerting the unwary to those copyists.

hmm, changed my mind. I did post my abuse email on here to godaddy. But no, i think Sony should be handling this not its customers. So i have back tracked and removed the post. Hope they sort it out.

Paul.

I think this is really cool! From now on, I'm going there first!!!

Where else can you read a post from "Wed Jul 06, 2011 6:54 pm" when it's 10:00AM (my time) on July 5th?! Why wait for today's news when you can read tomorrow's already?

(sigh...)

This is an auto-generated site, created to earn AdSense money (showing Google ads).

When googling for stuff, I see more and more obviously robot-created sites, pulling content (auto-scraping) from sites that rank high for the keywords they are interested in.

This is a huge challenge for Google, because it makes their search less valuable, and if they can't find a fix, we're back to human-reviewed directories (remember those?).

The funniest part is that this "Completely Fake Sony User Forum" thread has started to appear there....

NickHope wrote on 7/5/2011, 8:15 AM
Godaddy just registered the domain. They're not hosting it. Sony should send their notice to Club Uptime, not them.
VidMus wrote on 7/5/2011, 8:50 AM
It is best not to access that site. It can put something bad on your computer and you may not know it until it is too late.
Tom Pauncz wrote on 7/5/2011, 8:52 AM
And what's more, they're getting hits.

I just saw in my webstats a referred link to my website where I am hosting my "what do you look like" image.

I wonder if they still earn it if my browser doesn't show them, i.e. AdBlock Plus in Firefox?

Great - Now I'm a deranged looking blonde chick. Some of you became good looking women when you underwent your sex change procedures, but NO, I'd only look good at 3AM after 8 beers.....

They won't earn zip, because the ad doesn't show as served.

It is not a case of receiving the ad but not showing it.

Should we restart the "What do you look like" thread?
