Probably the AMD card. More on graphics cards here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-graphics-cards-gpu-acceleration-for-vegas-pro--104614/

I would prefer an AMD graphics adapter, but you'll give up a couple cpu cores with the Dell as configured. That may make you worse off. Attempt to match processors like for like before choosing a gpu by brand.

CPU comparison, http://ark.intel.com/compare/95451,88967

Dispatchable cores count in Vegas for all the things that aren't gpu accelerated.

Should i buy the dell one then? I have just heard that Sony Vegas supports OpenGL which AMD have

I wouldn't buy the Dell because of the two fewer CPU cores. Look for benchmark comparison sites to determine if the Kaby Lake processor has higher throughput or is just focused on lower power consumption. My guess would be that lower power consumption was its reason for existence. You want throughput. Damn the power! Full speed ahead.

okay thank you! But will the nvidia gpu still work fine with sony vegas?

I'm not sure either video adapter would contribute much compared to R9 or RX480 cards. Any reason you're choosing a laptop?

Sometimes I use VP 14 (together with Titler Pro 5 and Newblue FX plug-ins) on my laptop: ASUS GL552VX. Its specification is very similar to your first option (Core i7 6700 HQ, DDR-4 2133 SDRAM, 250 GB SATA-III SSD and Geforce GTX 950M). No problem, everything works well. I am satisfied with its performance.

Yes, i travel alot with my laptop from school, home and other places. I really want a custom built PC but my budget at this time do not allow me to do so. But what is a video adapter exactly?

GREAT! What's your video format, resolution and fps? And how long does it take to render?

So i have to buy the asus model and then a amd graphic adapter?

No your graphic adapter AKA video adapter AKA gpu is built into the laptop.

Basically one laptop has a better CPU and one laptop has a better GPU. You could keep searching for one that has the best of each.

Sorry.. didn't know it had multiple names and i just recently got into PC but thanks!

Upgrading the hardware of a laptop is not a simple thing (except the change of the RAM modules). The results of my speedtest were the following:

(1) 55 sec m2ts source files; project template: HD 1080-50i, 25 fps; rendering templates: Blu-ray 1080 50i 16Mbps (best quality); rendering time: 1 min 17 sec.

(2) 45 sec mp4 source files; project template as above; rendering template: Internet 1080 25p (16Mbps, best quality); rendering time: 1 min 35 sec.

I have to stress that speed is not my first point of view.
