Panasonic P2 MXF Footage not rendering V14, no problems in V12

Loens wrote on 12/13/2017, 1:02 PM

Hello,

upgraded to Vegas 14 build 270 from 12 (yes Im lagging behind a bit).

Footage shot in Panasonic P2 MXF codec gives a green screen in the timeline in Vegas 14, but it works perfectly in V12. Sometimes audio works in V14, sometimes in doesn't. This footage does not render to files.

I tried copying the v12 render plugins folder to the v14 installation but then the video preview in timeline went black instead of green.

Hope someone knows a solution (which doesn't include rerendering)

Contact Magix support. They have a work around.

There was a bug fix in VP15 build 177:

  • Fixed: AVC (Panasonic P2) file incorrectly reads as all green

There was a further bug fix in VP15 build 216:

  • Combining footage of some formats along with Panasonic P2 footage no longer causes the P2 footage to appear as green frames

Release history here.

Nick, I added the file properties to my OP. It seems though, it's a thing Vegas 15 has fixed. Trouble is, I'm using Vegas 14! Can I have get the fixed codecs from V15 somehow?

I don't think you can legally unless it's with Magix' blessing. If you upload a troublesome clip I can let you know if a codec swap works (assuming I also get green frames with it in VP14).
