Pressing FX anywhere (clip, channel, master, audio, video) does nothin

VEGAS PRO 19

This is new one one me... When I first press a Fx button anywhere, I can select whatever effects I want. When I press OK the selection box goes away BUT for the life of me, don't see any boxes where I can adjust parameters...

Any ideas ? After selecting the effect name, I click Fx again to edit the effect and it does nothing.

Thanks,

Tom

Can you share screenshots?

If Vegas used to work you could try a reset.

Weird, all FX buttons have a blue dot are don't bring up a control box for the effect selected...they don't do anything when clicked. I didn't show here but also applies to EVERY clip, both audio and video as well as master audio / video buss. I must have enabled something... Thanks for looking.

What about the others without the blue dot, do they work?

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

I think blue dot means active effects in that area.

Update: Now many Fx buttons work, regardless of area:

Video 6 works for Track and all cuts. Video MASTER works.

Audio 8, 9 and 10 do not work for tracks OR cuts. Audio MASTER Does not work.

Are the windows hidden behind the program or on a second screen?

Thomas-Monks wrote on 12/18/2022, 10:57 PM

When video windows pop-up, they do go to a 2nd screen which I see. Audio doesn't do anything...not hidden, I looked.

Try a reset?

It's not like there's a disable audio fx button somewhere you hit.

Try a reset?

@RogerS - Agreed.

It's not like there's a disable audio fx button somewhere you hit.

@Thomas-Monks - There is a By-Pass SFx, but that's not what you're getting.

@Thomas-Monks - Erm?... Try a different or even a Default Windows Layout?

OMG Grazie, you hit on something:

1) I fiddled with WINDOWS, turned some off. When restarting program, The AUDIO pas associated in the same window as PREVIEW MONITOR. I "X"ed the audio thing out of there and everything comes up now as floating windows... I guess that maybe I dragged an audio floating window into my preview screen and then it got burried under that. THANK YOU ALL...Geeze what a waste of 5 hours...lol

@Thomas-Monks

Book it under "Learned something again" That's not really much time in video editing.
