Preview Window Lagging

richard-t wrote on 12/13/2017, 6:01 PM

Hi so i am currently using Sony Vegas 14 and everything has been fine until yesterday when i noticed that my preview window started lagging. I know that this is normal when you do heavy editing but i'm just making simple cuts in a 10 minute video and it lags inbetween each cut for 5+ seconds or just randomly through out the video. This has never happened before so idk what is going on here.

Thanks!

Is your project media drive getting full? .. Have you tired saving your work, shutting down your computer and rebooting to get a clean start ..

Has Windows been updated or your video card driver?

What quality settings do you use for preview?

richard-t wrote on 12/13/2017, 8:08 PM

yeah windows just updated not too long ago but i haven't updated my gpu in a while. I set the preview window down to 480p

richard-t wrote on 12/13/2017, 8:09 PM

still didn't helptho

I noticed that it doesn't matter what i change the preview quality to, it still lags at the same parts with minor editing done. So there must be something else causing the problem:l

Maybe the latest windows update has something to do with it

richard-t wrote on 12/13/2017, 9:42 PM

i saw that earlier but nothing helped :l

Windows keeps updating my video card and I have to revert to the good working version. I just got the Fall Creator update and it messed up a lot of stuff.

updated my gpu and went back to an earlier version of windows 10 but the problem still exists

Like i said it was working a few days ago, I haven't been on since and now it's doing this....

Is this all projects? All media? If so... and If you can, roll back your WIndows to the last point things were working. Find ways to narrow down the problem.
