Pro 19 trial vs purchase - Light Rays - Sync Cursor disabled?

Chris-Jackson wrote on 11/14/2021, 12:58 PM
I am running a trial of Vegas Pro 19 Edit. In the Light Rays fx I cannot sync the cursor to the preview screen. The icon is there but it does nothing. Sync cursor works fine in the pan/crop fx. Does sync cursor not work in the trial version, or is this something new that Vegas is not doing? I have Vegas 11 and the sync cursor has always worked fine and is necessary for the light rays fx. Thank you for any insight.

I have also been with VP since version 11, and the sync cursor works the same in all versions.
This should also be the case in the test version.
Try a reset:

Thanks. Sounded like a good idea, but the reset did not change the sync cursor in Light rays fx. It does still work in the other fx such as Pan/crop. Seems odd, as Light rays fx is useless without sync cursor. Thanks again!

@Chris-Jackson

Did you press the "animate" button before?

Synchronisation works for me.

Walter, Thank You. I have pressed the animate button, but that did not allow sync cursor. So I reinstalled VP and paid for the program, hoping this would help, but it did not.

However, I have figured out my problem by comparing your screen shot to what I have. I have been using Media fx; I am quite sure this was the process in VP11. I see you are using Video Event fx. I tried that and now I can sync the cursor! Thank You for helping me figure that out.

Yes, it's confusing at first - but it's borderline brilliant that in Vegas you can assign FX at both event, media, track and project level.

But honestly, I didn't even think of that when we were discussing it.
Have fun editing!
