Putting Girl in Circle

Florida3204 wrote on 9/7/2021, 3:39 PM

I decided to take screenshots of the videos to display the two images above. The difference is probably obvious. The first screenshot shows the girl inside the circle (it's an audio spectrum). The second screenshot is my image. I put the lady on the first track and the circle is on the second track. The challenge for me is how do I get the lady inside the circle (something like the first image).

The first screenshot (it's actually a video) was done with a program called kinemaster. It's an android app. I have no tablet, and doing this type of stuff on a phone screen is crazy. I have Vegas 18. Waiting for the bugs to work out of 19 before upgrading.

My gut says masking will be involved to accomplish what I want. As far as resizing and moving or placement, I know I have to use Pan and Crop. If anyone can give me an outline of what I would need to do, it would be appreciated. Masking always was a confusing feature for me.

Any other thoughts or recommendations please let me know.

Thanks

I assume the waveform is moving, and the image is stills (not an actual video, just pure still image).

Idk what is the source of the waveform animation, if it from scratch, should be done in VEGAS Effects.

If the waveform is pre-made animation, just mask out the stills image. Make a sandwich layer like this:

1.ImageA (Masked)

2.Waveform

3.ImageA

Yes,,,the waveform is moving to the beat of the music and the girl is a still image. The waveform is a template (not created on Vegas). It will be saved as an MP4 file and imported into a larger video. I don't have Vegas Effects, or if I do have it, I don't know about it. I have Vegas 18.

I don't think Vegas 18 has track 3d. I'm looking now.

Back..yes vegas has 3d...but for me that seems a bit complicated. I'm going to try the masking way....wish me luck.

basic function in all VP versions:

you have no other way without the 3D-tracks in VP.

I will go with 3D Track type as well if don't have VEGAS Effects.

Just rotate the X-axis if I'm not mistaken and your live will be totally easier... and I'm not going to masking it.

VEGAS 19 isn't any more buggy than 18, FYI.

@Florida3204 Looks like you already figured out processing on the backgrounds to get the circle to show over the girl without blanking her out. Here's how I'd do the rest. First I'd nail down positioning of the girl relative to the circle throughout the run of the video. I'm partial to pip-fx for positioning but track motion or pan/crop also works if you're more comfortable with one of them. Then I'd duplicate the track with the circle putting one on top and the other on the track immediately below the girl track. Then it's a simple matter using bezier mask on the 2 circle tracks to turn them into a pair of semi-circles with crossfades on the edges outside of the space occupied by the girl. Object being to occlude the girl with the topmost semicircle while the girl masks off appropriate parts of the bottom one so it appears behind her. Then maybe add a 4th track layer for just the background.

Something like this can be done with 3D and parent and child and Pan Crop

joelsonforte.br wrote on 9/10/2021, 7:37 PM

Use 3D Track Motion and Pan Crop Mask
