Render to AVI files?

I'm trying to produce a BluRay in Architect Pro 5.2 that will have two video tracks. This will allow the user to choose "angles" on their remote control. The DVD Architect manual on page 88 says, "Any title that contains multiple video tracks will be recompressed when you prepare your project so the main video and the alternate angles can be combined into a new video file. To avoid recompression artifacts (and unnecessary processing time), use AVI file for your multiangle video titles.

I'm lost on which render setting to use in Vegas Pro 14. Under Video for Windows (*avi) HD 1080-60i YUV? Is that uncompressed?

It's not uncompressed. It's compressed with the Sony YUV codec, which maintains quality well. That entry in the manual/help probably dates back to the days of standard definition and may refer to DV AVI. There are more codec choices these days but I'm afraid I've never made a multiangle DVD so can't advise on the best choice. I'll move this to the DVDA forum where it should get a better response.

Sony YUV adopts to standard V210, see -> here.

I've never made a multi-angle DVD, either, but if you want to avoid having the video rendered twice or the space required for uncompressed, you could pass DVD Architect files in real time from multiple sessions of Vegas Pro using Debugmode Frameserver.

I discussed it recently in this thread. I've done it with separate titles, but not with different angles within a title.

If you have lots of disk space and want to use Uncompressed AVI, you can configure a custom template starting with the Sony YUV template making changes such as this:
