Rendering problem

Hey! Big frustration here now. I got a New MSI with high performance (Intel Core i7-6700K CPU 4.00GHz) and (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070) and a lot of memory available, running Win10 Home. I bought this Sony Vegas some weeks ago and now it starts to give me trouble. In process with moviemaking the program freez and a lot of work being lost. With a lot of saving during work this can be solved, but today a new issue occured: After finishing I started the rendering and the program stops at 40-50% and refuses to proceed. Several times I tried this and once I got trough, but then the movie (12 min.) was black (only sound). I read at the communities that this is a issue in Vegas, and I have tried a 2-3 quickfix, but no result. Real disappointing after spending $2000 on this setup. What IS this? What do I do?

What format are you rendering to? Does it always stop in the same spot? If so, try rendering a loop (selection) just before and another loop just after. Then render the area that is giving you issues (40-50%).

Markk655: Tnx for responding. I try to render in a format to match YouTube, and a couple of other formats, just to try but with same result. And now the timeline is giving me pain too; some of the clips don't show (grey) and are black in preview window. And Whole program freezez now and then. *ugh* Didn't count this to happen when I decided for Vegas.

Nick Hope: Tnx for answer. I went trough your site, but it didn't help much. Instead the timeline gives me trouble when don't show clips. Strange thing is that sometime they work just fine, and other clips don't. And vice versa. Sent a request to support with the info you listed on your site, and cross my fingers for a response.

Cornico: Hey. I bought VMS (Platinum) about a month ago and the version is 14.0 (Build 148). I don't know how to update this :( Anyway; I rendered my project this night (.MP4, 1,41 GB, 1920x1080, 13 987 kbps, 29 f/s, 192 kbps) for YouTube. Took 13 hrs, but still 3 clips/photos went black (sound OK). Does this make sense?

Cornico: I went trough my project and noticed that all the "problemclips" is .mov-files from a Canon camera used in the project. I chkd the net and found that others had problems (at least) in earlier Versions of VMS. Could this be the issue and causing Vegas to freeze too? (As U probably noticed) I'm quite new in this game, but the project settings are like this: Template HDV 1080-24P (1140x1080; 23,976fps), rendering quality: Best, deinterlace method: None.

Is there a solution to convert the .mov to .MPEG2. Found an app (EaseFab Video Converter) wich should take care of this.

I use a template picked from the net wich should do the job, and I've tried several standards too, but no result.

One of the files look like this:

SOLUTION! It turned out that it was the .mov-files that gave all the trouble. I first converted all of them into .MPEG4 using Handbreak, and the VMS stopped freezing and runned smooth. Then I used settings Cornico recommended and the output is nice. Thank you for helping me. Life is good again :)
