screen capture issue (black screen)

Hello,

I recently bought and installed vegas Pro 18. Work fine... except for screen capture : when I run it, the screen shows my 2 monitors and turns black immadiately. Does someone know this issue ? (PS : my monitors are in 1920x1080 and 1920x1200. The first one is tactile, RADEON graphic card with last driver).

Use your Radon Capture - a lot more powerful. I have a setup similar to yours, the only monitor that Vegas sees is the one driven by my intel CPU, not my AMD card. My AMD is driving a 4K 50" TV, 27" side screen 1080P on the the Intel. But the Radon Capture using key commands is very useful with lots of settings.

Another possible solution is next:
1. Copy/Past from "C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 18.0\VEGASCapture"
  to "C:\Program Files\VEGASCapture"
2. Copy the startpic out of it and add it somewhere to start Vegas Capture.
3. Use for that program the other GPU than the one used for Vegas Editting (a Windows setting)

I tried to do a capture with the radeon capture module but not really like the software. The other solution unfortunately doesn't work.

I tried OBS ; it seens to be a good option, or bandicam/vidmore... but it's not free.

I saw that I'm not the only one who encounter an issue with screen capture in vegas pro. It worked fine with Magix deluxe... a cheap software... and not with a 400 euros one owned by the same editor... 👎. An I have an other issue with newblue chroma key pro which is unrecognized (second post for help the same day 😩).

I have the same problem when I tried to use Capture for the first time today. I also have two monitors, one full HD the other 1680 by 1050.

I've found that the 4K captured from Radon is very good, what issues are you having with it?

no issue with the radeon, just a lack of possibilities vs OBS or Bandicam (I just bought it : perfect for making tutorials etc).

As far as I remember, there was once a statement from the development team that the screen capture module was deliberately kept very simple to meet a few customer requests.

If you want more features, it is much better to stick to a dedicated screen capture software. OBS works very well with Vegas and is used here by many users.
