Shifting all clips in timeline forward in time

Hi all,

I have a project with a lot of split clips from 1 full video file, but yesterday I've replaced the full video file with an old version after accidentally deleting the newest one. The old version of the video is shorter so now all the split clips are out of sync. I can't recover the newest one so I'm stuck with this now. I was wondering if there's a way for me to move all clips on the timeline forward in time together without me having to start from scratch?

Do a select all on the timeline and then slide them forward.

Hey, thank you but I'm not talking about shifting them in place in the timeline, I'm talking about shifting the split clips forward from the video they are split from so i can get it back in sync, if that makes sense. The new video they are split from is shorter so they are all out of sync now.

You might try a script and change the "offset" of each event the correct amount. Are they all to be moved the same amount? Or does the amount vary over time? Do they need to be moved left or right? How far?

@Holly-Amott The way I recovered from a mistake like that once was to first select all the clips that needed moving and group them. Then when I selected any clip in the group and and nudged it into alignment, the others in the group moved too.
