Snap shots in trimmer window?

Hello Everyone!

I'm a new user of Vegas Pro (version 14). I'm a 15 year user of Pinnacle that is about to convert. I really like doing my rough cuts in the trimmer window. However in addition to creating sub-clips to be used in my final cut, I'd also like to be able to create snap-shots. My final video often contains video clips and still shots. Can I take a snap shot in the Trimmer window? I can only find a way to do this in the Preview window. If i mark the spot in the trimmer window, that does get saved. Is there a way to later go back and quickly go to all marked spots in the preview window to then take snapshots? Also, i can't find a shortcut for taking snapshots. I believe the point of the Trimmer window is so that you don't have to drag your very large original clip into the timeline. If I have to do this to get my snapshots, then I believe I lose some of the bennefit of using the trimmer window. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help!

John

Right click in the trimmer Window and uncheck "Show Video Monitor".
Now you can see your picture on the preview screen and you can take as many shots as you like, but there are more options for snapshots per rightclick.

Thanks for the quick response. I now have this working.

Enabling the preview window didn't work for me.

Your comment on the 'right click menu' was what i was missing. The Trimmer window doesn't have a icon for taking snapshots which is what I was looking for. However right clicking brought up the menu that gave me the snapshot options that I've been looking for.

Big thanks!!

One more question: Is there a way to create a keyboard short cut for taking a snapshot?
