Software gets stuck for a few seconds when zooming in or out

Aviv-Hod wrote on 11/26/2021, 10:16 AM

I just upgraded to vegas 19 having bought a new laptop.

It's way stronger than what I had before.

Yet now, when I zoom in and pass a certain zoom level while playing (audio only, multichannel file) it gets stuck for about 5 seconds.

Same when zooming out. This happens every time (not just first time).

Please advise.

Thanks

Pls advise how new and how strong that laptop with concrete hardware parameters, especially the ALC-soundchip's para.

As best, make an individual signature.

Hey guys and thanks for wanting to help.
My data follows:

Vegas 19.0 build 424

Operating System
Platform: Windows 10.0 (64-bit) ***(That's what vegas sees, but it actually is windows 11 Home build 21H2)***
  Version: 10.00.22000
  Language: Hebrew
  System locale: Hebrew
  User locale: Hebrew

Processor
  Class: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz
  Identifier: GenuineIntel
  Number of processors: 16
  MMX available: Yes
  SSE available: Yes
  SSE2 available: Yes
  SSE3 available: Yes
  SSSE3 available: Yes
  SSE4.1 available: Yes
  SSE4.2 available: Yes

Display
  Primary: 1920x1080x32

Memory
  Physical memory: 16,219.3 MB
  Paging memory available: 19,163.4 MB

My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU

(so quite good).

Basically it is a powerful laptop.

I've been editing on Vegas since about version 3, so I have many years of experience and never had this current issue.

Edited the same type of file (multichannel wav) on my weaker laptop on Vegas 13 just a few weeks ago with no issues.

It's driving me nuts.

Appreciate any support.

Is it possible for you to screen record that?

When it happens do you get the vegas is not responding message, when you say stuck do you mean Vegas completely freezes up but doesn't get to the pale screen of death ?

I notice the pauses when I play all types of multitrack audio in VP19, it is worse in FLAC audio, best in PCM

I play in order AAC, FLAC, PCM. the CPU spikes are higher than I expected to see, could that be it?, you have a fast cpu so most likely not the cause
