Some of the media was not trimmed ?

I recenly upgraded from vegas pro 12 to 14 edit. I'm trying to backup past projects, and save the media with it. I want my media trimmed to save space. When I go to save, I select create trimmed copies of source media and click OK a warning message pops up" Some of the media on the timeline was not trimmed in order to preserve quality." it says. When I did this with Vegas pro 12 this  feature with the same projects, worked fine and my media was trimmed and included with the save for back up. I really need this feature to work or I may try to get a refund and just go back to using vegas pro 12. can anybody please help me ?

So is it failing completely or is it just not trimming some of the media? What type of media? Read Chienworks comment here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/copy-media-with-project--101655/#ca624403

Hey there...Thanks for the quick response, It's not trimming anything. The media files are mp4's and mpeg"s, The project was made in VP 12, It worked last week with that. Now I'm using VP 14 edit, and it won't trim the files. I can still make a backup of the project, but it won't trim media like it did in VP12.

Re-check that those MP4 and MPEG files really did get trimmed in VP12. The help for versions VP12, 13 and 14 says the same thing. It will only trim AVI formats that will "smart render" (no recompression):

"Audio/video events are saved in a new AVI file. You can trim DV AVI, uncompressed AVI, and Sony YUV AVI files. Because of the lossy nature of other video formats, those video files will not be trimmed, but will simply be copied to the project folder."

Hi..I checked and the mp4 and mpeg files were not trimmed with VP12 either. Thanks for the support, I guess what could've tripped me over, was that in VP12. I didn't receive that warning message that some files, wouldn't be trimmed. I should've just checked the size and compared it.
