" I’m sure end-actions are there "

Yea, thats what I assumed when I blew my $300 bucks on it in the first place. Afterall, who would release a $300 DVD authoring program without end-actions right ?

I'll never assume anything again.

Muttley:
Its not really blown money as they will upgrade it shortly. It takes time to design software to be rock solid and then build on it with all the toys.
The upgrade might even be free.

I read the release. And as much as I like Vegas 4, I am strongly reminded of the saying, "One man's treasure is another man's trash." Or some such.

There is much in Vegas 4 that I like, and much I have yet to teach, or use, much less master. But there is not one thing mentioned in the press release that interests me in the least bit. Certainly not enough for me to get me to recommend that we buy it for our school computer labs.

Guess that tells a lot about me, too. None-the less, I hope there is more not yet mentioned that WILL interest me. I always like a little treasure hunt.

A lot of the stuff that matters to existing users includes "unsexy" and obscure things like improvements to the Media Pool, end-actions in DVD Architect, a script palette, regions selectable from the Edit Details window, etc. None of these things mean squat to anyone who isn't intimately familiar with Vegas.

I'm sure Sony wanted the first glimpse of V5 to focus on those things that would sound good to people who don't currently use Vegas. I'm sure there are plenty of other surprises we haven't heard about.

Oh, wait, I forgot. That release was an "accident." So, I stand corrected, Sony didn't mean to say anything in particular, because they didn't really say anything. My mistake. ;-)
