Stabilizer (Mercalli & NewBlue FX) Issues

Like others here, I'm getting the glitches on the first frame in stabilized Mercalli clips. I figured out a workaround by disabling the GPU rendering in Mercalli's settings but no matter what I do, I can't get the NewBlue stabilizer to work. I'm getting the glitches on the first frame in my renders and this is driving me crazy. I tried everything in this previous thread (this thread is for Mercalli but I figured it might work with NewBlue as well). https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/mercalli-glitches-in-vp14-and-vp15-with-uhd-output--109577/?page=1

I can get Mercalli to work but not NewBlue but I need NewBlue because it works much better at certain clips. Does anyone know a fix for the NewBlue stabilizer? Or does anyone know of another stabilizer (other than NewBlue or Mercalli) that works solidly in Vegas?

For most events of my sourcefiles I have no problem with Vegas own stabilizer.

I actually do use that stabilizer as well, but most clips I need to stabilize are locked down shots (basically static monopod shots that have some of that typical DSLR shake). As soon as someone moves an arm or something, most stabilizers go wacky...especially Vegas's built in one. Mercalli works sometimes but NewBlue has the option to ignore fast moving objects and that usually does the trick.

In this case I try to cover the interfering areas before the stabilizer. For this I use the Cookie Cutter FX as Media FX. So I stabilize a subclip. You can save the deactivated FX with the project and have it at hand for necessary corrections. This works very well in many cases.

That's a very good hint. I'll try it with Mercalli.

Is there any reason you prefer the FX Stabilizer over Mercalli ?

I assume you tried the workaround with the 1 thread render limitation and this did work with Mercalli but not with the New Blue Stabilzer ?

I tested Mercalli 3 SAL and Virtualdub. The results were often better with the internal stabilizer and cookie cutter and it fits in well with the workflow. To get the least trimming, it is important to create the subclips first and only stabilize them. Mostly I use the values 0.3-0.9 for pan smoothing and 0.05-0.5 for stabilization amount.
I also use this method for stereoscopic videos.

Did you also try the actual Mercalli V4 plug-in version ?

In my case, I have to stabilize many clips that contain a very small tremble, that is not taken off by the RX10M2 stabilizer. To get rit of this I mostly use a fix camera 5% 3% setting and apply the FX using AddMercalli CC. This could not well be done using subclip stabilization.

No. I mainly have hand-held, static shots with small panning. That was always fine to stabilize, unless someone was running through the scene. However, Rolling Shutter can be a problem that can be solved better with Mercalli 4.

The cookie cutter is a brilliant idea. I will try it. I have tried all the workarounds (including the one thread) with no luck. Thanks.
