I assume you watched it, & leave it at that... : )

Well said. I'll take my one vote, crank my audio gain next time, and hope for more votes.

I look for excellence in both content and technique. Some of the entries are technically excellent but not much more. Some have interesting content but fall down in technical execution. And there are others. I'm attracted by great technical skill in execution but I'm looking to see that used in expression of content. So it's that sum of creativity and skill that I'm judging, and of course this is a subjective decision. Which did I pick? Ah, well now.

I didn't say I voted for it, I was just defending people's choice.

BusterKeaton... I can appreciate your position...
however, is Animal farm(again, nothing against the creator) the best of all the videos, & isn't this what the vote should reflect?
Yes, I submitted a video(Space Kwest) & It's way down the list, & that's fine, as I wasn't expecting much, it is what it is...
& I am a little dissapointed there were not more entrys, as I like to see others work...
I think the next 3 vote getters are well deserving of their votes...,

& maybe, just maybe, there's a chance I'm completely wrong...

Just looking at the voting. I think there must be a problem with the site.

At 17:42 last night the top 6 votes were:

Haunted House 79
Animal Farm 65
Reflections 55
That WWII Flick 45
Water Droplets 35
mister ascii 20

At 18:12 last night the votes had changed to:

Reflections 52
Animal Farm 51
Haunted House 37
That WWII Flick 37
Water Droplets 35
mister ascii 20

I don't understand how Haunted House can lose 42 votes in the space of 30 minutes particularly as those 42 didn't appear to get allocated to any other entries.

That's a total of 67 votes that have disappeared into thin air!

Alan

Edit: All times are BST (GMT + 1)

Hi Tom

Thanks for taking the trouble to carry out your test.

However, my first count was done from the PC in my office at work. My second count was done from home. And anyway, after seeing the differences I did a reload.

In addition, when I got home and saw the huge variation, I telephoned one of my colleagues who has also been monitoring the voting and he had noticed the same variations.

Apart from anything else, there is no getting away from the fact that at 17:42 last night, the total for the top 6 was 297. 30 minutes later it was only 232. Even now it is only 277 and apart from the odd 1 or 2, I can't see all of those 20 allocated anywhere else.

I had noticed that some had double posted, or at least that's what I thought they must have done. I'm sure that if their entries move nearer the top they may ask Douglas & co to make the necessary adjustments. I also noticed that one was submitted on the 11th.

Yes I hear what you are saying, but I'm not producing statistics, I'm pointing out that the top 6 lost 65 votes between them in a 30 minute period and those 65 votes didn't get allocated to any other entries.

Ok. I didn't realise that you could remove votes completely without re-allocating them.
