Thank You Magix!

I just wanted to say "thank you" to Magix for keeping Vegas Pro alive and doing so much work on transforming it into one of the best NLEs on the market. I remember the dark days of Vegas 13 and the program, while still useful, languished on the vine for a few years and it seemed all hope was lost and I would have to jump ship to another editor. But Magix came in and through a lot of hard work and patience, they truly brought it current while keeping the legacy streamlined interface I've come to know and love. And so now, in 2021, here we are with V18! So thank you Magix for keeping the legacy of this program alive!! It is very much appreciated by me and I'm sure by many others.

Do you able to update to latest VP18 build 434 without issues?

Despite of crash and trouble reports, me as mod glad to hear this appreciation as well and I believe the developers are!

@set
No problem, here.
But I have to say that I do not use the error-prone automatic procedure via the program, but rather the "VEGAS_Pro_18.0.0.334_DE-EN-FR-ES.exe" from "https://www.magix.com/us/support/ my-service-center /" download and install.

Perhaps the core problem is Windows Defender, that there are always problems - see the post by @david Johns

I have to say that I don't judge any version of Vegas until the last build. I expect bugs along the way especially given all the innovation that is occurring. I just remember very clearly that Vegas looked dead at V13 and how sad I felt about possibly needing to jump ship, but now, here we are in 2021 still with Vegas and I am grateful for that. I primarily use Vegas for short films and tutorials and have probably edited 300 tutorials with it. It is a fantastic program. I also used it to edit a feature-length film, which took me 3 months to edit. I did a tutorial about the method I used for that, since I couldn't take any chances on renders crashing.

This is the tutorial to which I am referring:

Thank you!

Yes, I also owe a huge debt of gratitude to Magix for stepping in and continuing to develop Vegas. Sony Vegas was my favorite NLE in the early 2000s, and now Magix' Vegas is my favorite NLE in the 2020s (Sound Forge as well). It's simply the easiest-to-use NLE on the planet! Thanks, Magix people!

I'm doing my part and helping to spread the word, promoting the application's power and ease-of-use across all the special-interest forums in which I participate (e.g., music forums like ModWiggler and GearSpace for video-synthesists and musicians), as well as on my own platforms including my YouTube channel and on the web (modularfilms.com).

I've even included direct-links in the video descriptions on my channel to Magix' Vegas site and to BorisFX' site:

The team is really kicking some serious butt behind the scenes, I'm blown away by some of the things I've seen. I'm quite proud of the team and what they are accomplishing. It's a great time to be a VEGAS user!

I absolutely agree with your comments. For me it's the best NLE I've used!
