EDIT: Fixed, just went to the folder where it has been installed opened the 700Mo file from there.

Hello, I can't Install it after getting this error. "The installation program canot update Vega Pro 18.0 if it's running."

I had this issue and it turned out to be Windows Defender's "anti-ransomeware" setting (under Settings -> Virus and Threat Protection -> Ransomware protection". Windows was preventing Vegas from access the C: drive or something. Briefly turning Ransomware Protection off while running the update enabled it to work.

Magix Vegas Pro Edit 18.527 with Boris BCC_2019.5 and Magic Bullet Looks 4. Running on an HP Omen 15 Windows 10 laptop with 16GB RAM, GTX1060 6GB graphics (Studio driver) and Intel 8750H six-core CPU.

Please make a new thread with your system specs, project settings, and the render settings you were trying to use. It'll just get buried under new replies in this thread.

Hello,
I have VEGAS Pro 18 (VEGAS_Pro_18.0.0.434_DE-EN-FR-ES_nVUsnks40).
The program hangs (stops working) as soon as I select "render as ...". You can't even set the rendering options.

I was an happy winner of Vegas pro 18 at the last 2020 Holiday Contest but unfortunately and ironically I cannot use it as I have the same "render as..." problem. As soon as I try to do a render, Vegas crash without even showing the render window.
I have try many different things to solve the issue with no luck.

It shouldn't cause this issue, but your cpu doesn't meet the min. requorements to run VEGAS, and you only have enough ram to do 1080p editing.

@fr0sty It is true that I am due to upgrade my cpu (will be doing it in a few months) but currently Vegas 16 works well on my system and I can also edit 4K video without problem.

Yes, thank you, you're right.

Maybe I will do it. But I downloaded an old version on a torrent website cause i don't have the time to struggle with this kind of problem. We have a youtube channel to feed ;)

It is even not a problem of render settings because the message appears instantaneously when I click on render as... So...

What I have noticed several times already, is after an update or after a re-installation of Vegas Pro.
When you work with the Plugin Ignite Pro and Hitfilm Pro it is better to remove it and reinstall it!
I had problems again with this version VP18 b434 too!

Track Motion window still don't remember size and position.

It's sad and ridiculous

Hm. It looks similar to Pan/Crop issue that was introduced in one of VP17 updates and that was never fixed in VP17 (it was fixed in VP18 only).

I hope this time you will be lucky to have it fixed in VP18.

System requirements

Operating system: Microsoft® Windows 10 (64-bit)

RAM: 8 GB RAM minimum (16 GB recommended; 32 GB recommended for 4K)

Hard drive space: Hard drive space: 1.5 GB hard-disk space for program installation; Solid-state disk (SSD) or high-speed multi-disk RAID for 4K media

Intel (R) Core (TM) i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60 GHz 3.60 GHz, RAM 32.0 GB, NVIDIA GeForce 2070 SUPER GPU, SSD TB. This is sufficient equipment for Vegas Pro 18, but it does not work ...

But still, I can run Vegas pro 18 with my system. I can load previous projects and edit them without problem. As I said, the thing is that I cannot do any render so it is useless.

"HEVC 4:2:0 media will no longer cause a crash

Better support of HEVC 4:2:2 media on Intel processors":

my 4K HEVC 10-Bit 4:2:0 will still consume an obscene amount of CPU to cripple playback and hardly any GPU support visible

my 4K HEVC 10-Bit 4:2:2 I cannot load to media list, and hence unable to edit. (ps i have IGPU disabled in BIOS as this traditionally made the system unstable)

Yes, that is correct. Every update for Vegas Pro requires a re-activation as part of the install process. It has Been this way for many years. The new activation should just replace the existing activation on My Products on your MAGIX account.

Ordinarily, the serial number self-populates in the activation window so its then only a matter of hitting the activation button which initiates the new activation process back to your MAGIX account.
