Time extension

I uploaded my first Vegas 14 pro extension. Wonder if someone is interesting in trying it. It shows a small dockable window where you can find the length of a selected event, or the length of several selected events : shows both the value with and without fadeover durations. When changing the length of an event it will update continuously. It gives a warning if your selected events are on different tracks (but still shows the values).

You can download it here

To make it work it should be copied to the folder C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\14.0\Application Extensions\

Main cameras Panasonic S5, still using some FZ1000

Windows 11
Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 4.20 GHz
GPU NVidia Geforce RTX 2070 super
RAM 32,0 GB

Main disk M2 2 Terabyte, other disks SSD on SATA, some on USB.

Thanks. I put it in C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\Application Extensions because that's where my other VP14 application extensions are.

It's similar to Peter_P's ShowEventLength extension but that only shows the length of one event.

Feedback:

  1. I don't see any reference to fade lengths in the extension.
  2. I would put the lines of information closer together (no extra lines in-between) so that the window can be smaller.
  3. You could maybe drop the word "duration".
  4. Did you forget to translate "bruto"?

Thanks for your input. I have uploaded a new version that follows your remarks. You can use the same link from the first post.

I am still working on this extension because there are some obvious problems : lengths are added even if they are overlapping. Not sure if selecting multiple events to measure time on several tracks has any practical value, but it should be correct.

What does "Fade overs" show? I can't get it to show anything except 00:00:00:00.

I still think it takes up a lot of screen space.

@Bruggeling There was a request here for the functionality provided by your extension. Unfortunately the link in your original post no longer works. Could you please update, or give me permission to share the JPVegasEx.dll that I downloaded? Actually I have 2 versions, 8KB and 15KB. I'm not sure which is the later one.

@Nick Hope. You can share the JPVegasEx.dll. The 15KB is the most recent. And I just noticed I did not see a post from last year... If you select 2 or more adjacent events, and there is/are fade over(s) then you will see the combined time of the events, the combined time of any fade-overs, and the real duration time of all the selected events (iow the play-time of the combined events).
