Trying Vegas again - first sigh, now cool.

So, after some time not using Vegas, once my favorite editor, I upgraded to 15, and did this

  1. On a new timeline I added a 15 seconds iPhone 1080p 59.94 clip
  2. Added a Vegas title onto the clip
  3. Selected File -> Render As
    1. Magic AVC/AAC MP4
    2. Internet HD 59.94fps
  4. Got "An error occurred while creating the media file <file> - The reason for the error could not be determined

Now, using Sony AVC/MVC worked, but seriously guys. I really thought I was going to be able to come back to Vegas on my main PC some time in the future. I am going to continue trying a bit, but at the moment, if I need work done, FCPX and Motion on my MacBook seems to be the user friendly solution. I really don't like to work in Premiere.

Heya Terje,

Try this 2 options, maybe together:

1. Use the Mainconcept AVC codec, you have to allowe this one in Options/Preferences/Internal(choose Preferences with hold shift-button for Internal)
2. Disable the So4Compound plug.

1. Render as -> "Vegas has stopped working" - Boom

1. + 2. SUCCESS! Now, interestingly, doing 2 disabled my previously enabled MainConcept AVC codec, so I had to re-enable that, but now all the AVC rendereres work it seems.

Thanks a lot! Not giving up just yet :-) Vegas implements my favorite work space.

What model iPhone? AVC or HEVC? (this will show you if you don't know)

Standard troubleshooting tips for rendering are in this post.

'twas iPhone 6, AVC 60p. Disabling So4Compound helped.
