Unable to install Vegas Pro 18 Suite online

alexander-nNevis wrote on 10/2/2020, 12:04 PM

Hello. I recently bought Vegas 18 Pro Suite.
However, immediately after starting the online installer, it suddenly closes and a window appears with a message from the MAGIX Manager about the inability to connect to the server and a recommendation to check the Internet connection.
The same thing happens with the online installer of the previous version 17, although it worked without problems before.
This happens under any account and with any method of connecting to the Internet (via a router or directly).
With and without antivirus software.
I remember that there were no problems with Windows version 1903. What happened after that?
1. I upgraded my computer (replacing the motherboard and processor).
2. I installed clean Windows 10 Pro version 2004.
3. I installed all the updates that Microsoft offered.

The configuration of my computer is described below.
Operating system: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, version: 2004, build: 19041.508 with all the latest updates.
Any programs from MAGIX are missing and have never been installed before.
CPU: Intel Core i9 10920X.
RAM: 64Gb DDR4 3200.
GPU: nVidia RTX2080Ti.
Audio: Creative SB AE9.
Network adapter: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-V.
Antivirus: "ESET IS" version 13.2.18.0
Any other software installed on my computer, including online, works without problems.
I sent a ticket to tech support, but didn't get any response

And about online installer filename of VP18Suite:

Is the vegaspro18suite_dlm_eij3hp.exe valid filename?

The the online installer of previous version VP17Suite has simple name.

What can a respected community recommend?

Which browser are you using? Some forum members are having problems with Chrome.

I use as default browser the "SlimJet browser for Windows" based on Chromium,

but how does it relate to the online installer "vegaspro18suite_dlm_eij3hp.exe "?

Thank you for the link. I'll try Edge. By the way, maybe it really depends on where you're from. I don't live in the US or Germany.

@set

Thanks a lot for the link.

Additionally, my Internet provider advised me to try to use public DNS from Google. I will try.

Renewed. I tried to connect to the Internet using the public DNS of Google 8.8.8.8, Installed Microsoft Adge as the default browser, installed two updates from Microsoft that Just came: KB4576945 and KB4577063, which fixes the problem of connecting to the Internet, but the problem did not go away .

I don't understand what's stopping the installer! 👽

My Internet service provider, at my request, conducted an investigation and found the cause of the problem. This is indirectly confirmed in the link: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/upgrading-to-vegas-pro-18-download-never-starts--124303/ that EricLNZ kindly provided.

Indeed, the MAGIX loader starts or does not start, depending on which IP address the online installer was launched from.

My Internet provider has confirmed that it is not possible to run the online installer from my IP address.

The problem is solved!
The villain is found - it is Microsoft.
Please forgive me for my harsh remarks. MAGIX really had nothing to say to me in response.
The reason for the inability to run the online installer Vegas Pro 18 Suite, as well as Vegas Pro 17 Suite,
is bugs in the operating system that Microsoft regularly adds to system updates.
I just received update "KB4579311", which completely fixed the above problem.
Microsoft has confirmed the existence of the problem and solved it.

I also downloaded a trial version of Vegaspro-18 halfway through the installation asking for another disk. Why and what is the solution?

Where, on what location, did you choose to install the program.
How much free space is on that location?

It has 55GB of storage and asks for the other installation disk halfway through the installation.
It is incomprehensible why? I bought Vegaspro18 online.
Vega 17 was immediately installed.
This has never happened to me before.

j-v wrote on 11/25/2020, 12:56 PM

Do you save it to C/: on your disc where also Windows is installed?

I installed these, but nothing has changed
looking for installation disk.

Look for the installation disc to continue the installation.
you want to open a disk (vegas180.msi file) and not save.
plus a .msi file is required for further installation
