Is there an error message? If so click on more details and see if it lists any OFX files or anything else that might pin down what's causing the crash.

 

If it crashes during the render try setting the Dynamic Ram Preview Max to 0 and lowering the number of threads to <4 (or 1 to test). You can also try disabling any GPU rendering in Video/Preferences (then _restart) and render again to see if it crashes when rendering w/ CPU only. If it doesn't then try updating your NVidia (or AMD) graphics driver. You can also try rolling back your driver to an older one which (at least in my experience w/ NVidia) may resolve some issues.

I would be surprised if your Kindle Fire tablet does not support other formats. WMV is old and troublesome. Try Sony AVC/MVC.
