Vegas 19 crashing when loading a project that includes mts files.

I've been using Vegas 19 for a few years without any problems but now the program crashes when loading a project that includes mts files. I've tried all the fixes (making sure I have the latest gpu drivers etc)

It's basically made Vegas completely redundant as I cannot open any old projects or create new ones.

I have three Sony cameras and they all use the mts file format.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Try a reset and cache clear? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Hi Roger,

I tried it but it still crashes. I then downloaded the Microsoft Dolby Codec, installed it and now Vegas 19 is no longer crashing.

It seems that Microsoft has excluded the AC3 codec from the latest update for Windows 11.

:Yes, that's very true about AC3 and non-upgrade builds of Windows 11.
I didn't realize it could crash VEGAS though.

VEGAS implemented its own support for these files a while ago with VP 22. link

Thanks for the info. It would help a lot of users if they could implement it via a patch for version 19...

Four versions back... I don't see that happening...

Yes, I don't see that either.
