Vegas 19 not stopping

I have been playing with VP19, trying the new options - trying to emulate some of the useful examples from YouTube (Particularly from Scrapyard Films). Really struggle to get the motion tracking to be effective - could really do with that new AI to 'find edges' when drawing around an object to track.

Anyway - I close VP19. And after a while I am aware that the pc fan is powering away. I look in Task Manager - and VP19 is still loaded and running at high CPU. There is no visible aspect of VP19, so I have to 'End Task'.

Does anyone else have this issue?

My laptop uses Intel iRISx GPU, (11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz) if that makes any difference.

I have a similar experience on my xps15 laptop. Vegas does actually terminate eventually after about 60 secs. Not just v19... v18 too. I recall that HOS offers a little utility to terminate it sooner. My own hokey way of dealing with it is to create a shortcut and alter it's target properties to:

%SystemRoot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe "taskkill /IM vegas180.exe /F ; taskkill /IM vegas190.exe /F "

That calls on Powershell and kills off both v19 and v18 if running. Really only needed to speed up something that requires an exit/restart. Btw, do not see this delayed termination behavior on any of my other machines.

Ideally I would like to know how to report this case (e.g. obtain a stack dump) to Vegas so they can try to find a solution. It could only be a thread that is started but ignores the termination request - so it carries on whirring away oblivious to the fact it is unnecessarily eating up precious resources. Unlike the errors when vegas is on-display, which offer a way to post the issue - there is no such capability here.

And it was chomping thru CPU for at least an hour after I had closed V19.

The Vegas executable has been doing the same thing on my laptop in 17, 18 and 19. It's annoying as hell as if I am changing some preferences, internal or otherwise, I try and make sure it shuts down by itself so the preferences will stick. It usually stays alive for 30-45 seconds and it is doing something as I see various levels of cpu use and disk access. I have no other program on my machine that does this and it's kind of absurd that Vegas exhibits this behavior. Perhaps it's writing an updated log but I can't imagine what shut down routine would take 45 seconds.
