Compared to the last two upgrades, it seems security's a bit tighter this time around.

I seem to recall some "accidental" leaks by this time for V4 and V5.....

Those screenshots that leaked before V4 came out were great !

Gary is right! The product details cannot be released until NAB.

However, I am authorized to make all Vegas User's Worldwide aware that the SCVUG will once again be in charge of the production, editing and the streaming video presentations of the entire Vegas 6 and DVDA 3 Training Class Sessions from NAB.

Every Vegas User in the World will be able to view the streams free of charge and in full multi camera edit detail as presented in the seminars.

I haven't seen this many excited (and anxious) users here since this time last year. :-)

Wasn't there a song by the Pointer Sisters called, "I'm so excited!"?

Yeah, now I remember, and the chorus goes:

"I'm so excited and I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control
And I think I like it. I'm so excited and I just can't hide it and I
Know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I want Vegas, I want you."

Well, only changed the words a BIT. ;-)

It's great that Jay and Liam will be able to stream this again like they did last year, what a great way for those that can't attend NAB to see what's new and exciting in Vegas 6. I'm sure the community appreciates it.

See you all at the show!

It being free, that's an understatement : )
Come hell or highwater I'll be there with you next year though!

If I am not mistaken, wasnt Vegas 5 trial released on the first day of NAB last year? I do remember someone discovering the link to download the trial the night before it was supposed to be posted before it was taken down.

It would be way cool if the trial/upgrade would be released at NAB this year as well.

Yea - that was a hoot

SPOT,

I posted these NAB V6 + DVDA 3 streaming details on the DMN Vegas Forum and somehow they got deleted. Is there anything that you can do or is there an issue there?

Thanks,

Jay

Heres the main question I have and I know the beta testers cant say anything but hopefully Sony guys will respond. Will we be able to capture HDV in Vegas 6? Because I will be highly upset if I shell out $150 for the Cineform plugin before NA2005 and then Vegas 6 supportscapture and output. This is all I want to know. I can wait patiently for the other features/goodies.
BrianStanding wrote on 3/24/2005, 3:00 PM
I have no inside information, and unfortunately, I do not have the links handy, but there have been some very strong hints on this forum that there are significant HDV-related improvements in V6.

I plan on holding off buying anything until we see what's in the V6 feature set.

I assume those times start on Monday, the 18th? I guess that is a dumb question.
Spot|DSE wrote on 3/24/2005, 3:06 PM
No one in the know can comment on any features in or not in Vegas 6. Sony has made it pretty crystal lately that we have to wait until Sony makes the official statement/release/announcement, which apparently is at NAB.

That said.....I'm finishing a 120 minute project done entirely in V6, and boy oh boy, it's FUN!
Spot|DSE wrote on 3/24/2005, 3:09 PM
I'd imagine that the DMN deleted them because you posted links to a competing forum...They're starting to crack down on some of that due to threats from another forum. I don't know. Nothing was said to me about it, I'm just guessing. I'll ask.

Thanks SPOT,

Hopefully, you will be able to convey to DMN that the SCVUG has a long and outstanding history of being in service to all Vegas User's, Worldwide. Not just those in Southern California.

Streaming the Vegas Ugrade Training Sessions around the World has become a tradition for the SCVUG and SONY. And, I hope welcomed by Vegas User's who cannot attend NAB.

A tremendous amount of time and committment goes into producing this.

As everyone knows - we are a true grass roots Vegas Group and not a commercial enterprise.

... and furthermore - is it a very complex project where Vegas 6 helps much managing it??? ;-)

Here's a question - how do you get to be a Beta tester anyway? "connections" or that P word?

Dave
p@mast3rs wrote on 3/24/2005, 5:37 PM
P word? Paid? Id definitely pay to beta test for Vegas.
p@mast3rs wrote on 3/24/2005, 5:39 PM
Sorry Mario, as an aspiring teacher, I dont believe in cheating. My apologies if I gave the younger one any wrong ideas.

Cheating is bad. Cheating is bad. Cheating is bad....unless you can make millions with it. again, just kidding.
